What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Teewell Avenue, Staple Hill) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Teewell Avenue which extends from a point 20m east of Seymour Road eastwards for 20m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works. The order became operative from 24 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, from 8am on 24/11/2025 to 5pm on 26/11/2025. Alternative route: Seymour Road, Broad Street, Bath Street.

(Down Road and Station Road, Winterbourne Down) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order became operative from 24 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.

SCHEDULE Down Road – that length which extends from Rose Close to Station Road; Station Road – that length which extends from Down Road to Cairn Gardens. Alternative route: Down Road, Harcombe Hill, Hicks Common Road, Flaxpits Lane, Dragon Road and vice versa.

(Public Footpaths POL/15/20 and POL/15/30, Longwell Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon construction works. The order will be operative from 14 December 2025 for a maximum period of six months and then subject to the consent of the Secretary of State for a further period. SCHEDULE – (the entire length): 1. POL/15/20; 2. POL/15/30 Alternative route: Aldermoor Way, Marsham Way and vice versa

Construction Of Road Humps – David’s Lane, Alveston Details of the proposed changes

NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called ‘the Act’) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C(1) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called ‘the Regulations’) and in accordance with section 90C(2) of the Act intends to construct a road hump in the form of a flat top table centred at a point approximately 12m west of A38 Gloucester Road.

The road hump will extend over the full width of the carriageway and be 10m in length (not including the ramps) and 75mm in maximum height, subject to the tolerances permitted in the Regulations. All distances and measurements are approximate and subject to construction tolerance. Where can I see more information? Notice is hereby given that the provisions of Article 2 of the above order made on 1 December 2021 and confirmed on 13 April 2022 have now been complied with. The order became operative from 6 November 2025.
