BURY METROPOLITAN BOROUGH

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

SUNDAY, 9 NOVEMBER 2025

A Civic Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, 9 November 2025. Processions will depart from Bury Town Hall at 10.30 a.m. and will proceed along Knowsley Street, Haymarket Street and Market Street to the Cenotaph at Bury Parish Church.

A two minute silence will be observed at 11.00 a.m.

The Worshipful the Mayor of Bury (Councillor Noel Bayley) and Representatives of Service, Ex-Service, Pre-Service and Civilian Organisations within the Metropolitan Borough will lay wreaths at the Memorial. An Order of Proceedings sheet will be available and members of the public present are invited to join in the singing of hymns during the Wreath Laying Ceremony.

At the conclusion of the Wreath Laying Ceremony, a Service of Remembrance will be held in Bury Parish Church. Following this a “March Past” of various detachments will take place at approximately 12.30p.m., where the Worshipful the Mayor of Bury will take the Salute. The Processions will dismiss. Light refreshments will be served in the Elizabethan Suite.
