DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF KENT
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH ER308 AT ST MARGARETS AT CLIFFE)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above Order was made on 22 October 2025 under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed, it will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to the statement a footpath numbered ER308, with a width of 2.5 metres, which commences at its junction with public footpath ER28 at NGR TR 3632 5585 (Point A) and travels in a south southwesterly direction for 150 metres to its connection with public footpath ER276 (Droveway Gardens) at NGR TR 3624 4472 (Point B). As shown on the Order Plan between the points A-B.
All distances are approximate, all directions are general.

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to Michael Tonkin at the Kent County Council (address as below; email as above) no later than 12 December 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.
If no such representations or objections are duly made to the Order (or to any part of it), or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kent County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the Authority has by Notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order). If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment (in whole or in part), any representations or objections which have been duly made and not been withdrawn will be sent with it.

(BRIDLEWAY HE377 AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH HE245 (PART) AT NEWINGTON)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above Order was made on 9th July 2025 under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed, it will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:
i. Adding, at Bridleway status with a width of 3 metres, a route commencing at a junction with Beachborough Road at NGR TR 1698 3922 and proceeding in an easterly though southerly through easterly direction, through Coombe Farm, for 393 metres to a junction with Public Footpath HE245 at NGR TR 1729 3905;
ii. Upgrading, to Bridleway status with a width of 3 metres, that length of Public Footpath HE245 which commences at the aforementioned point at NGR TR 1729 3905 and runs in a easterly through south-easterly direction for 457 metres to a point on the southern side of Coombe Wood at NGR TR 1763 3879;
iii. Deleting that section of Public Footpath HE245 which commences at the aforementioned point at NGR TR 1763 3879 and runs in a south-easterly through south-westerly direction for 267 metres (broadly around the field edge) to a point on the northern side of Asholt Wood at NGR TR 1772 3859;
iv. Adding, at Bridleway status with a width of 3 metres, a route commencing at the previously described point on the southern side of Coombe Wood at NGR TR 1763 3879 and running in a south-south-easterly direction (across the field) for 223 metres to the previously described point on the northern side of Asholt Wood at NGR TR 1772 3859;
v. Upgrading, to Bridleway status with a width of 3 metres, that length of Public Footpath HE245 which commences at the aforementioned point on the northern side of Asholt Wood at NGR TR 1772 3859 and runs in a south-easterly direction for 836 metres to a point at NGR TR 1813 3788; and
vi. Adding, at Bridleway status with a width of 3 metres, a route commencing at the previously described point at NGR TR 1813 3788 and running in an east-south-easterly direction for 268 metres to a junction with Newington Road and Public Footpath HE250 at NGR TR 1840 3782
The effect of the Order is also to record field gates as limitations at NGR TR 1763 3879, NGR TR 1772 3859, NGR TR 1785 3848, NGR TR 1813 3788 and NGR TR 1840 3782.

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT
MODIFICATION ORDER 2024
On 22 October 2025 The Kent County Council confirmed the above Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of that Order as confirmed is to divert the entire width of that length of public footpath numbered KM311, which commences at NGR TQ 7788 4330 (point A) and runs in a east northeast direction for 138 metres to NGR TQ 7802 4332 (point B), commencing again at NGR TQ 7803 4332 (point C) and running in a north east direction for 7 metres to NGR TQ 7803 4333 (point D) before heading in a east direction for 97 metres to its termination at the junction with Public Footpath KM312 at NGR TQ 7813 4332 (point E). As shown between points A-B and C-D-E on the Order plan, and to provide a new length of public footpath numbered KM311, with a width of 2 metres, which commences 19 metres east southeast of the aforementioned point A at NGR TQ 7790 4329 (point F) before heading in a east direction for 46 metres to NGR TQ 7794 4328 (point G) then southeast for 14 metres to NGR TQ 7795 4327 (point H). The footpath then heads in a east northeast for 32 metres, then north east for 31 metres and north northeast for 23 metres following the curve of the track on the edge of the woodland to the aforementioned point B. Commencing again at the aforementioned point C the path heads in a north east direction for 7 metres before heading in a east direction for 94 metres to its termination at the junction with Public Footpath KM312 at the aforementioned point E. As shown between points F-G-H-B and C-E on the Order plan.

The Order comes into force on 19 November 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act which has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the 31 October 2025, make an application to the High Court.

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath MU65 between its junction with Hilden Park Road and Public Footpath MT41 and Public Footpath MT41 to its junction with Public Footpath MT419 from 03 November 2025
The paths will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that they will reopen 24 December 2025
The paths are to be closed because of repair works to a culvert
