Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Freeholders of Sheffield entitled to vote in the election of Town Trustees will be held at The Offices of the Law Clerk, 1 St Pauls Place, 121 Norfolk Street, Sheffield on Monday the 17th day of November 2025 at 12.30am for the purpose of electing one new Trustee of the Charity or Trust in Sheffield commonly known or called “The Town Trust”. No person shall be eligible for election to the Office of Town Trustees unless he or she or some duly qualified person intending to propose him or her has at least fourteen clear days before the day fixed for the election left at the office of the Law Clerk to the Trust a Notice in writing signifying his or her candidate for the Trusteeship or the intention of such qualified person to propose him or her and such Notice shall contain particulars of the name and address and qualification of the proposer.
The Qualification for the Trustee shall be the residence or carrying on of business in or near Sheffield and a qualification for a person to vote in the election of a Trustee is the possession beneficially of a freehold estate or interest in lands or tenements situate in the Township of Sheffield and the residence in or the occupation of a rateable tenement in the Parish of Sheffield as declared and enacted by the Sheffield Town Trustees Act 1873, as amended by a Charity Commission Scheme dated the 5 day of August 1969.
