CITY OF BRISTOL (BROOKGATE, ASHTON, BRISTOL)  (TEMPORARY ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

What is happening?

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance 
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 
1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will 
be to introduce, temporarily, south eastbound one way traffic in that 
length of Brookgate from a point 233 metres north west of South 
Liberty Lane south eastwards for 46 metres.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to 
be  executed on or near the road and will be operative from 
10th November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 
However, the restriction may not be implemented for the whole of the 
period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated 
to take place between 10th November 2025 and 19th December 
2025).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Brookgate (part unaffected), South Liberty 
Lane, Winterstoke Road, Winterstoke Underpass, Ashton Road, 
A370, Gurney Roundabout, Colliters Way, Brookgate (part unaffected)
(LOWER CLIFTON HILL, CLIFTON, BRISTOL) 
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) 
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance 
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 
1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will 
be:-
1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of Lower Clifton Hill 
specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and
2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the 
existing one way traffic working in a generally north easterly 
direction in Lower Clifton Hill so as to allow access and egress for 
works vehicles and to give effect to the alternative routes.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to 
be  executed on or near the road and will be operative from 
24th November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 
However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the 
period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated 
to take place during the periods specified in Schedule 2 to this 
Notice).

SCHEDULE 1 – Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles
1. from a point 99 metres north east of its north westernmost 
junction with Constitution Hill north eastwards for 32 metres
2. from Constitution Hill to Bellevue
3. from Bellevue to Berkeley Place

1. between 24th November 2025 and 12th December 2025
2. & 3. between 1 and 7 days duration within the 18 month period

ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance 
of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 
1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will 
be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in 
Schedule 1 to this Notice.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to 
be  executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 
11th November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 
However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the 
period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated 
to take place between 11th November 2025 and 11th November 
2026 – please see Schedule 2 below for more details).
In addition, the closure of lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 
to  this Notice which also provide part of an alternative route (as 
specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice) will be managed so as to allow 
the provision of the alternative routes whilst facilitating the works 
programme.

SCHEDULE 1 – Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles
1. Imperial Road – from West Town Lane southwards for 
36 metres
2. Hazelbury Road – from West Town Lane to the common 
boundary line of No.1 and No.3 Hazelbury 
Road
3. Sturminster Road – from Durweston Walk to West Town Lane
4. West Town Lane – (a) from Sturminster Road to the common 
boundary line of No.122 and No.124 
West Town lane
(b) from Sturminster Road westwards for 
97 metres
SCHEDULE 2 – Durations
1. & 2. Between 11th November 2025 and 11th November 2026
3. & 4. Towards the end of the works period (for resurfacing works 
only)
SCHEDULE 3 – Alternative Routes
1. Imperial Road (part unaffected), Mowbray Road, Clive Road, Wells
