NOTICE OF MAKING
The Medway Council (Rochester) (Waiting and Loading Restrictions)
(Amendment No.25) order 2025
Argyle Close, Beresford Avenue, Borstal Road, Castle Avenue, Goddings Drive, Grange Way, Maidstone Road, Onslow Road, Orion Road, Pattens Lane, Warren Wood Road
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 21 October 2025 made the abovementioned order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
The general effect of the amendment order, which comes into operation on 27 October 2025, will be to introduce or amend lengths of ‘no waiting’ (double yellow lines except where otherwise stated) in roads within Rochester as detailed:
1) Argyle Close – Both sides, a 5-metre (m) extension north-westwards from Wilson Ave;
2) Beresford Avenue – North side, (a) 3.5m westwards from the scout hut access road (front of No.24), (b) 3.4m eastwards from the scout hut access road (front of No.36);
3) Borstal Road – North-west side, (a) from 21.6m south-west of The Graylings to 7.8m north-east of that junction, (b) from 11m south-west of Goddings Drive (up to No.124) to 10m north-east of that junction;
4) Castle Avenue – 9.5m loading bay to operate 7am – 7pm daily, adjacent No.126 Delce Road between entrance marking and double yellow lines;
5) Goddings Drive – (a) South side, 18.2m south-westwards round the bend from Borstal Road, (b) North side, 8.7m westwards from Borstal Road to the dropped kerb;
6) Grange Way – both sides from the existing restriction south-west of Kings Avenue for 56m and 60.6m, ending by No.1 Crossway where road widens out;
7) Maidstone Road – formal removal of 1 hour limited waiting outside Nos. 177-183 (former bathroom showroom premises);
8) Onslow Road – (a) North side, 10m in front of the access road to the rear of No.146 City Way; (b) North-east side, 20.4m on the corner by No.2, (c) South-west side, 23.6m single yellow line on the corner adjacent to No.2 Amherst Road, operating 8am-6pm;
9) Orion Road – (a) West side, an 8.1m length northwards from Warren Wood Road, (b) East side, 7.7m northwards from Warren Wood Road;
10) Pattens Lane – North-east side, 67.5m between the existing restriction opposite Golding Close to the existing restriction opposite No.74;
11) Warren Wood Road – North side, 12.9m westwards and 13.7m eastwards of Orion Road.
Copies of the order and associated documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design Team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the order was made.
Persons wishing to question the validity of the order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the order was made, apply for the
purpose to the High Court.

TENNYSON AVENUE, CLIFFE
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -
Tennyson Avenue, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 2 Tennyson Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via B2000 Town Road, and View Road in both directions.
This order will come into force on Monday, 17 November 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 17 November 2025 and are programmed for completion within five days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

MAGPIE HALL ROAD, CHATHAM
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable drainage works to be carried out -
Magpie Hall Road, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 10 Magpie Hall Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Walderslade Road, Maidstone Road, Railway Street Roundabout, Railway Street – Railway Street Roundabout, Maidstone Road, Gibraltar Hill and New Road in both directions.
This order will come into force on Saturday, 22 November 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Saturday, 22 November 2025 and are programmed for completion within two days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

MILBURN ROAD, GILLINGHAM
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -
Milburn Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at the side of 140 Richmond
Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Richmond Road, Medway Road, B2004 Medway Road, Exmouth Road and King William Road in both directions.
This order will come into force on Saturday, 29 November 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Saturday, 29 November 2025 and are programmed for completion within two days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

MERESBOROUGH ROAD, RAINHAM
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO.2) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to facilitate the replacement of a decayed telegraph pole -
Meresborough Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from outside Pope Cottage for 100 metres in a southerly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Meresborough Lane, Yaugher Lane, Matts Hill Lane and Meresborough Road in both directions.
This order will come into force on Wednesday, 12 November 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 12 November 2025 and are programmed for completion within two days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

GILLINGHAM AND BROMPTON
(PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS)
(AMENDMENT NO.43) ORDER 2025
NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
Copenhagen Road, Gillingham (outside No.19)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 37, 45, 46, 53 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
The general effect of the amendment order will be to introduce or amend lengths of waiting restrictions (single or double yellow lines) in Gillingham, with the addition below to proposals advertised on 18 September 2025:
1. Copenhagen Road - North side (a) reduce the parking bay outside No.19 by 2 metres eastwards;
(b) extend the adjacent waiting restriction eastwards by 2 metres, also converting the full length of the single yellow line to double yellow lines.
Copies of the order, plan and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals can be inspected at Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except for public holidays. Electronic copies of these documents can be requested by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk on the understanding that requests may take up to five working days to be processed and sent.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -
The Street, Upper Halling - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 61 The Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via The Street, Vicarage Road, Kent Road, High Street, Holborough Road, Ladds Lane, Pilgrims Way in both directions.
This order will come into force on Monday, 1 December, 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. CHATHAM HILL, CHATHAM
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS AND CYCLE LANE)
ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to suspend the operation of the existing bus and cycle lane as follows:
Chatham Hill - on the south-western side of Chatham Hill, between its junctions with Whitehorse Hill and Seymour Road.
This is to enable the north-east bound lane of Chatham Hill to enable fire hydrant renewal works to be carried out on that side.
The suspension will be in force between 8pm and 5am from Monday, 24 November 2025 for a period of five days, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
Access for local residents and businesses will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable.
