Notice of the intention to make an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath EE367 in the Parish of Betteshanger

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath EE367 between Circular Road and The Play Area (What 3 Words ‘rare.readjust.rollers’ to ‘stocky.fixed.crunch’ nearest Betteshanger Rd) from the 10 November 2025

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen on or just after 30 November 2025

The path is to be closed because works are planned on or near it.

The alternative route is via Circular Road and the play area access road and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH WC77 (part), FRITTENDEN)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above-named Order made on 24th September 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the entire width of that length of public footpath WC77 which commences at NGR TQ 8166 3980 (Point A) and runs in a generally north-north-westerly direction for approximately 134 metres to NGR TQ 8159 3992 (Point B) and then in a generally westnorth-westerly direction for approximately 73 metres to NGR 8153 3996 (Point C) where it connects with Sand Lane. As shown on the Order plans between the points A-B-C and will add a new length of public footpath WC77, with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at the aforementioned Point A and runs in a generally northerly direction for approximately 200 metres to NGR TQ 8165 4000 (Point D) and then in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 87 metres to NGR TQ 8168 4008 (Point E) where it connects with public footpath WC277. As shown on the Order plan between the points A-D-E.

The documents can also be viewed online at www.kent.gov.uk/prownotices or a copy can be obtained by contacting William Barfoot (tel: 03000 41 86 74 or email William.Barfoot@kent.gov.uk).

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to William Barfoot at the Kent County Council (PROW & Access Service, Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1XQ, William.Barfoot@kent.gov.uk) no later than 14th November 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kent County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
