NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR THE
TRANSFER OF A LICENCE
Petty Sessions District of Newry & Mourne
County Court Division of Armagh & South Down
TAKE NOTICE that Seamus McGeown of 12 Green Park Avenue Markethill BT60 1PY in the County of Armagh intend at the Magistrates Court sitting at Newry on Wednesday 22 October 2025 at 10.30am to apply for the transfer of a licence at present held by Peter A McGeown of 33 Coolmillish Road Markethill BT60 1QA for the premises situate at 85 Main Street Markethill BT60 1PJ in the County of Armagh being premises of the following kind according to the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996, namely premises specified in Articles 5(1)a of the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996.
A Protection Order authorising the aforesaid Brendan Garvey was granted on 17 day of September 2025 by the Magistrates Court sitting at Newry for the period of 6 months from the date of the order.
The Owner of the business carried on under the Licence is the Applicant.
The Owner of the premises in which the business is carried on is the Applicant.
The Licence will be deposited with the Clerk of the Petty Sessions before or at the hearing of the application.

TAKE NOTICE that any person owning, or residing or carrying on business in, premises in the vicinity of the premises for which the Licence is sought who intends to object to the transfer of the Licence, must in accordance with paragraph 4 of Schedule 5 to the Licensing (NI) Order 1996, serve Notice of his intention to objection upon the applicant and the Clerk of the Petty Sessions not less than one week before the date of the court hearing.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the permissible grounds of objection are such as are specified in Article 22(6) of the Licensing (NI) Order 1996 namely the unfitness of the applicant, and that the business carried on in the premises under the Licence has not been discontinued.
