What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL 

Statutory Notice 

EWHURST C OF E INFANT SCHOOL 

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, as amended by the Education Act 2011, that Surrey County Council, in partnership with the Governing Body of Ewhurst C of E School and the Diocese of Guildford, intends to make a prescribed alteration to Ewhurst C of E Infant School, The Street, Ewhurst, Surrey, GU6 7PX from September 2026. 

Surrey County Council, in partnership with the Governing Body of Ewhurst C of E Infant School and the Diocese of Guildford, is proposing to extend the age range at Ewhurst C of E Infant School. 

If the proposal was agreed, it would mean that the school would extend its age range to become Ewhurst C of E Primary School, offering an education to children from Year Reception through to Year 6. To accommodate all pupils, the school would increase its capacity by 15 places from 90 to 105. 

Surrey County Council has complied with all applicable statutory requirements to consult in connection with this proposal. At the conclusion of the Notice period, if permission is granted by the Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning, Surrey County Council will implement the proposal.
