Public Notice of Disposal of Open Space
(Section 123(2A) LGA 1972)
1. NOTICE is hereby given for the purposes of Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 that The Borough Council of Worthing (“the Council”) proposes to dispose of land at the Property known as the Energy Centre at High Street, Worthing, West Sussex.
2. The intended disposal will be by way of a lease granted for a term of 99 years for the purpose of an Energy Centre including gas and other utility connections in connection with the Worthing Heat Network. The lease will include associated easements.
3. The land to be leased will comprise of the two areas outlined in red on the plan comprising approximately 267m2.
4. Plans showing the location of the land concerned may be inspected at the offices of the Council at the Town Hall, Chapel Road, Worthing, BN11 1HA between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and between 9.00am and 4.00pm on Friday (public holidays excepted).
5. Any objections should be made in writing and marked for the attention of Property & Investment Manager, Adur and Worthing Councils (ref: Energy Centre Substation Lease) and sent to Town Hall, Chapel Road, Worthing, BN11 1HA or by email to

to be received no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 9th October 2025.
