NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF DERBYSHIRE
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (FOOTPATH FROM MACCLESFIELD OLD ROAD TO PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 34 – BUXTON) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above Order made on the 31 July 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to them Footpath in Buxton from Point A (Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (“GR”) SK 0350 7235) proceeding in a generally north easterly direction to a generally northerly direction to Point B (GR SK 0351 7331) turning in a generally north easternly direction to point C (GR SK 0363 7338) a distance of 1,116 metres or thereabouts.
The path has a width Varying between 35.6 m and 3.6m on former railway; 2.7m to 7.2m to 7.2m on lane between Edgemoor and The Barn as shown shaded on the Order map.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Director of Legal Services at the address below or by email to

not later than 6th November 2025, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Derbyshire County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
