What is happening?

Barrow in Furness St Matthew (Diocese of Carlisle)

The Church Commissioners have prepared a draft scheme providing for the demolition of the closed church building of Barrow in Furness St Matthew and to empower the Carlisle Diocesan Board of Finance to dispose of the property. A copy of the draft Scheme may be inspected at St Matthew's Community Halls, Highfield Road, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 5PA. You may also access the draft Scheme on the Commissioners' website from the link to draft schemes online at www.churchofengland.org/consultation or obtain or inspect a copy during normal office hours at the Church Commissioners' office by applying to Stephen Hughes. Large print and/or audio copies are available on request. Having considered the proposals you may make representations either in support or against the draft scheme by e-mail to Joanna.Chandler-Clarke@churchofengland.org or by writing to Joanna Chandler-Clarke, Pastoral Division, Church Commissioners, Church House, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ.
