St. Agnes Parish Council Memorial Safety Testing - Important Notice to Grave Owners

As part of its annual memorial safety programme, St. Agnes Parish Council has inspected memorials in its cemeteries. Where a memorial has been found unsafe, it has been temporarily secured-either carefully laid flat, fixed to a temporary stake and banded, or cordoned off-to ensure it does not present a risk to cemetery visitors or staff.

What this means for grave owners: If you discover that your loved one's headstone has been temporarily secured, you will need to arrange permanent remedial work by a BRAMM/NAMM registered Memorial Mason.

A list of approved Memorial Masons is available from the Parish Council. Please contact the Parish Council as a matter of urgency so we can advise next steps and update our records. We appreciate this may be distressing.

These measures are taken with care and respect and ensure our cemeteries remain safe for all.
