What is happening?
NOTICE OF PROPOSED LEASE OF PUBLIC OPEN SPACE
LAND AT THE EMBANKMENT, BEDFORD, MK403QF
Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 that Bedford Borough Council intends to lease an area of public open space, being land located to the East of Longholme Boathouse.
The area which is proposed to be transferred comprises approximately 363 square metres of land. It is intended that the land is to be leased to provide a café and leisure facilities.
A copy of this notice and a plan of the Property are available on request addressed to the Head of Property Services at the postal or e-mail addresses set out below.
By virtue of Section 123(2A) of the local Government Act 1972 the Council is required to give formal notice of its intention to lease public open space and consider any objections to the proposed disposal.
Any representations or objections to the intended letting must be made in writing by letter or by email, specifying which site the objection relates to, and addressed to the Head of Property Services at the postal or e-mail addresses set out below, no later than 5th September 2025. The grounds for any objection should also be stated.
