What is happening?

City Council Notices 

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS ST GEORGE’S ROAD, COVENTRY
 
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on St George’s Road from its junction with Northfield Road to its junction with Binley Road. 

The Order will come into effect on 00.01 hours on Monday 18th August 2025 and is required to allow Severn Trent Water to install a new water connection on the said road. 

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Thursday 21st August 2025.
 
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site. Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site. Exemptions will be provided for: 
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; 
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order; 
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; 
(d) local vehicular access to St George’s Road. 

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY/ FOOTPATH CLOSURE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY FOOTPATH LANGBANK AVENUE 

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of which will be a closure of the length of footpath detailed in the Schedule below (when appropriate signage is in place). 

The Order will come into operation at 00.01 hours on Friday 15th August 2025 and is required to allow for reconstruction works on the said footpath. The maximum duration of this Order is six (6) months but it is expected that the works will be completed by Friday 22nd August 2025. The footpath will be closed or restricted on a number of occasions for various durations, to such an extent as when prescribed signs are displayed. Any alternative route for pedestrians will be sign posted on site and access to premises maintained wherever possible. Exemptions would be provided for:- 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) anyone in connection with the execution of the said works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS CLIFFORD BRIDGE ROAD, COVENTRY 

Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a temporary Order the effect of which would be to prohibit vehicles from travelling at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour (MPH) on that part of Clifford Bridge Road commencing at its junction with Dorchester Way and continuing to its junction with Brinklow Road. The Order would take effect from 00.01 hours on Friday 15th August 2025 and is required to ensure worker and public safety while works to the Clifford Bridge Road Cycle Way are ongoing. 

The Order would remain in effect for a maximum duration of 18 months to allow for unexpected events or until the said works are completed. It is expected the works would be completed by 30th April 2026 and at that point the Order would lapse Exemptions to the Order would be provided for: 

(c) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; and 

(d) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS OLD CHURCH ROAD, COVENTRY 

Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made a temporary Order the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along that part of Old Church Road between its junctions with Bellview Way and Hall Green Road. The Order will take effect from 07:00 hours on 18 August 2025 and is required to enable drainage works to be undertaken safely. The Order will be in effect from 07.00 hours to 16.00 hours each day whilst in operation. The Order will remain in effect for a maximum duration of 18 months to allow for unexpected events or until the said works are completed. 

It is expected the works would be completed by Friday 29th August 2025 and at that point the Order will lapse. Diversion routes will be sign posted where appropriate and access to premises maintained wherever possible except when works is directly in front of a property. Exemptions to the Order will be provided for: 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order; 

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; 

(c) local vehicular access Any vehicle waiting in contravention of the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY PARKING & TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS WOODRIDGE AVENUE, COVENTRY 

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Woodridge Avenue from the One Stop Shop for 60 metres toward Ridge Court to such extent when prescribed signs are displayed. 

The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Monday, 18 August 2025 and is required to enable the installation of a speed table, carriageway resurfacing and associated works on Woodridge Avenue to take place safely. The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

It is expected that the works will be completed by 20 August 2025. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site. Exemptions will be provided for: 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency; 

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; (d) reasonable local vehicular access to Woodridge Avenue. 

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY PARKING & TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS SADLER ROAD, COVENTRY 

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Sadler Road from its junction with Radford Road to its Junction with Foster Road to such extent when prescribed signs are displayed. The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Monday, 18 August 2025 and is required to enable critical maintenance of gas main and associated works on Sadler Road to take place safely. The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

It is expected that the works will be completed by 22 August 2025. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site. Exemptions will be provided for: 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency; 

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; 

(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Sadler Road. 

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Any person requiring further information in connection with the Order should contact Network Management on 02475 278789. 

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS MEADOW STREET, COVENTRY 

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Meadow Street commencing from its junction with Windsor Street and continuing to its junction with Norfolk Street. 

The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Tuesday 26th August 2025 and is required to allow Severn Trent Water to perform internal chamber surveys on the said road. The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Wednesday 27th August 2025. 

The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site. Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site. Exemptions would be provided for:- 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order; 

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; 

(d) local vehicular access to Meadow Street. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS BENNETTS ROAD NORTH, COVENTRY 

Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a temporary Order the effect of which would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on that part of Bennetts Road North commencing at its junction with Howat Road and continuing to its junction with Miners Lane. 

The Order would take effect from 00.01 hours on Saturday 23rd August 2025 and is required to enable Section 278 (Highways Act 1980) highway works to be undertaken safely. The Order would remain in effect for a maximum duration of 18 months to allow for unexpected events or until the said works are completed. It is expected the works would be completed by Friday 29th August 2025 and at that point the Order would lapse. Exemptions to the Order would be provided for: 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Pikers Lane from its junction with Wall Hill Road to its junction with Foster Road to such extent when prescribed signs are displayed. 

The Order would come into effect at 07:00 hours on Wednesday, 27 August 2025 and is required to enable the installation of new water connection and associated works on Pikers Lane to take place safely. 

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed 29 August 2025. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure would be sign posted on site. Exemptions would be provided for:- 

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform; 

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency; 

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; 

(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Pikers Lane. 

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
