NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF KENT

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(RESTRICTED BYWAY ED56 AT SHOLDEN AND DEAL)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On 7th July 2025, the Kent County Council confirmed the above Order without modifications. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by upgrading to Restricted Byway status the entire length of Public Footpath ED56 (known as Church Lane) commencing at its junction with London Road and continuing in a generally east-north-easterly direction for approximately 410 metres to its junction with the full highway also known as Church Lane. The route has a width of 3 metres.

A copy of the Order as confirmed and Map may be seen free of charge during office hours at the offices of Dover District Council, White Cliffs Business Park, Whitfield, Dover CT16 3PJ. The documents can also be viewed online at www.kent.gov.uk/prownotices.

This Order became operative as from 7th July 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, they may, under Paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from the date of this notice below make application for the purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER

(BRIDLEWAY EE422 AT SUTTON)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On 7th July 2025, the Kent County Council confirmed the above Order without modifications. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:

a) 
upgrading to Bridleway status, with a width of 5.5 metres, that section of Public Footpath EE423A which commences at its junction with Willow Woods Road at Little Mongeham (opposite Manor Farm) and runs in a south-south-easterly direction for a distance of 50 metres to a junction with Public Footpath EE422 at NGR TR 3336 5084 (This section of path is also renumbered to form part of EE422); and,

b) 
upgrading to Bridleway status, with a width of 1.83 metres (6ft), the entire length of Public Footpath EE422, commencing at the previously described point at NGR TR 3336 5084 and running in a south-easterly direction for 1200 metres to a junction with Beacon Hill (opposite the property known as ‘Linden Lea’) at NGR TR 3431 5009. The way was dedicated subject to the limitation of gates at NGR TR 3399 5040 and NGR TR 3431 5009.

DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

On the 25th July 2025, the Kent County Council confirmed the above Order without modifications.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a restricted byway numbered ER307 with a width of 4.08 metres, which commences on Lucerne Lane at NGR TR 3404 4701 (Point A on the Order plan) and proceeds in an east-south-easterly direction for 370 metres to NGR TR 3437 4689 and then in an easterly direction for 138 metres to NGR TR 3451 4689 and then in an east-southeasterly direction for 132 metres to NGR TR 3463 4685 and then in an east-by-northerly direction for 233 metres to NGR TR 3486 4690 and then in a south easterly direction for 312 metres to its connection with Deal Road at NGR TR 3507 4667 (Point B).

This Order became operative as from 25th July 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53(3)(c)(i) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, they may, under Paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 15 August 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

 

 

Notice of the intention to make an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath NS166 in the Parish of Shorne

(Prohibition Of Traffic) Temporary Order 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath NS166 for its whole length between its junction with Mill Hill Lane and its junction with Butchers Hill from the 19 September 2025.

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen 26 September 2025

The path is to be closed because works are planned to the overhead cables.

The alternative route is Mill Hill Lane and Butchers Hill.

Notice of the making of an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath KB33 in the Parish of Tovil

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath KB33 between Cripple Street and Hayle Place from the 16 August 2025

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen in September.

The path is to be closed due to gas mains replacement works.

There is no alternative route.

Notice of the intention to make an Order to temporarily close Public Footpath WS24 in the Parish of Southborough

In The Borough of Tunbridge Wells

(Prohibition Of Traffic) Temporary Order 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath WS24 between Edward Street and London Road from the 5 September 2025

The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen 17 October 2025

The path is closed because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the highway.

The alternative route is via the public footway along Holden Park Road or Forge Road.

IN THE BOROUGH OF TUNBRIDGE WELLS

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (PUBLIC FOOTPATH WC295 (PART) SANDHURST)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above-named Order made on 6 August 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the entire width of that length of public footpath WC295, which commences on the unaffected line of the path at NGR TQ 8031 2631 (Point A) then running North north-eastwards through north westwards for 260 metres to NGR TQ8027 2655 (Point B) and then continuing northwards for  124 metres to junction with the unaffected length of the footpath at NGR TQ8029 2668 (Point C).  As shown between the points A, B and C on the Order Plan.   And will provide:   A new length of public footpath with a width of 2 metres commencing at the afore-mentioned Point A (NGR TQ8031 2631) a running east for 22 metres Point D NGR TQ8033 2631) to then run for 352 metres north north-westwards to NGR TQ 8025 2666 (Point E) then north-eastwards for 47 metres to rejoin the existing line of the path at NGR TQ8029 2668 (Point C)  As shown between the points A, D, E and C on the Order Plan.

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to Chris Wade at the Kent County Council (address as below; email as above) no later than 12 September 2025.  Please state the grounds on which they are made.

Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain.  Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kent County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order.  If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
