On the 11 July 2025, certification was given that the terms of Article 2 of the Order requiring works to be carried out had been complied with, thereby enabling the Order to Come into Force. Copies of the Order may be seen free of charge at the Offices of Ashford Borough Council, Ashford Gateway Plus, Church Road, Ashford, Kent TN23 1AS, or the Kent County Council, History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1LQ during office hours.

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH KH268 (PART), HARRIETSHAM)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT
MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above-named Order made on 17 July 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert the entire width of that length of public footpath, which commences at an unaffected length of public footpath KH268 at NGR TQ 8608 5226 (Point A), and runs in an easterly, then north northeasterly direction for 87 metres to NGR TQ 8615 5230 (Point B), where the path continues unaffected. As shown by the bold line between Points A-B on the Order and will add a new length of public footpath numbered KH268, with a width of 2.5 metres, which commences at the aforementioned Point A, and runs in a northeasterly direction for 16 metres to NGR TQ 8609 5227 (Point C), before continuing in a northeasterly, then northerly, then easterly direction for 68 metres to the aforementioned Point B. As shown by the bold broken line between Points A-C-B on the Order Plan.

A copy of the Order and Map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at the offices of Maidstone Borough Council, King Street, Maidstone, Kent, ME15 6JQ or at the Kent County Council, History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1LQ, from 10am-5pm. The documents can also be viewed online at www.kent.gov.uk/prownotices or a copy can be obtained by contacting Michael Tonkin (tel: 03000 41 03 25 or email michael.tonkin@kent.gov.uk).
Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to Michael Tonkin at the Kent County Council (address as below; email as above) no later than 22 August 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Kent County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order. (Prohibition Of Traffic) Temporary Order 2025
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991
The Secretary of State for Transport has directed that the Order made by Kent County Council on the 08 February 2025, the effect of which was to prohibit all traffic from Public Footpath ZR120 has been extended for a further 6 months, until the 08 February 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier
The path is closed between Wises Lane and Cryalls Lane
The alternative route is via a temporary footway on Wises Lane and Cryalls Lane and will be signed for the duration of the closure.
