What is happening?

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has published a
consultation on Northern Ireland’s first draft Climate Action Plan. DAERA has been leading
the development of the draft Climate Action Plan on behalf of the Northern Ireland Executive.
The draft Climate Action Plan sets out what we can do to reduce the amount of harmful
greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. The consultation provides an opportunity to talk about
how we should tackle the impacts of climate change to meet our climate goals.
The consultation will close on 8 October 2025.
