THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Headley Road (C56) and Tilley Lane (C56) Headley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Headley Road (C56) and Tilley Lane (C56) Headley between the junction of Tilley Lane with Lee Green Lane (D315) and the junction of Headley Road with Downs Road (D2251).
Alternative Route – Farm Lane, Park Lane, A24 (The Street, Leatherhead Road and By-Pass Road), Headley Road and Clay Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate pole replacement and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Westhumble Street (D2530) Westhumble Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Westhumble Street (D2530) Westhumble between the western boundary of the property known as “Cleveland Barn” and the eastern boundary of St Micheals Chapel of Ease.
Alternative Route – A24 (London Road), A2003 (Ashcombe Road), Ranmore Road, Ranmore Common Road and Chapel Lane, or A24 (London Road, Mickleham By-Pass, London Road and Dorking Road), A246 (Young Street, Guildford Road and Leatherhead Road), Leatherhead Road, Dorking Road and Chapel Lane.
This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate trial holes on railway bridge and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Ship Hill (D446) and Westmore Green (D446) Tatsfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ship Hill (D446) and Westmore Green (D446) Tatsfield between the eastern boundary of the property known as “The Old Telephone Exchange” and a point 20 metres east of its junction with the Parade (X448).
Alternative Route – Old Lane, Ricketts Hill Road and Lusted Hall Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate tree cutting to keep branches away from power lines and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out in 6 separate phases over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 9 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Station Approach (D440) Oxted Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Station Approach (D440) Oxted.
Alternative Route – Station Road West, Church Lane and Bluehouse Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate tree cutting and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 July 2025. Salmons Lane (D1388) Whyteleafe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Approach (D440) Oxted between its junction with Whyteleafe Hill (C227) and its junction with Torwood Lane (N1003).
Alternative Route – A22 (Godstone Road) and Whyteleafe Hill, or this route in reverse. Alternatively, A22 (Godstone Road), Burntwood Lane and Whyteleafe Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas mains replacement and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Church Road (D320) Leigh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Road (D320) Leigh between the access for the property known as “Orchard Cottage” to a point 250 metres east and north.
Alternative Route – Church Road, Flanchford Road, Tapners Road and Church Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate new BT ducting installation, repairs and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No. 3) 2025
On 20 June 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to: (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Park Road (C134) Banstead between its junction with Mint Road (X68461) and a point 130 metres east of this junction (the access road for Courtlands Park); and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024”, “The Surrey County Council Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” and “The Surrey County Council Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025” insofar as they relate to the length of road in (a).
Alternative Route – Park Road, B2219 (Holly Lane and Bolters Lane), B2217 (High Street) and Park Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate high voltage works and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
A217 Reigate Road, Hookwood Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 25 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A217 Reigate Road, Hookwood which extends from its roundabout junction with A23 Brighton Road to its roundabout junction with C62 Reigate Road. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing/carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Alternative Route – A217 Reigate Road, A217 Dover Green Road, A2044 Woodhatch Road, A23 Brighton Road, A23 Bonehurst Road, A23 Brighton Road and A217 Reigate Road.
Various Roads in Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- a) The entire length of B2219 Garratts Lane, Banstead. Alternative route–Brighton Road, Tadworth Roundabout, Brighton Road, Winkworth Road, Bolters Lane and Garratts Lane. b) That length of D1015 Garrard Road, Banstead that extends from its junction with B2219 Garratts Lane, to the south-western property boundary of “No.1 Garrard Road”. Alternative route – Monks Road, Colcokes Road and Garratts Lane. c) That length of D1015 Colcokes Road, Banstead that extends from its junction with B2219 Garratts Lane, to the south-western property boundary of “No.17 Colcokes Road”. Alternative route – Monks Road and Garrard Road. d) That length of D1015 North Acre, Banstead that extends from its junction with B2219 Garratts Lane, to the north-western property boundary of “No.64 North Acre”. There is no applicable alternative route however access for affected businesses and residences, emergency services, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times where reasonably possible.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains installation and/or connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out in sections, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within 6 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures which are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for affected businesses and residences, emergency services, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times via the alternative routes described above and/or as described above. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Dodds Park (D2853) Brockham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Dodds Park (D2853) Brockham as it extends from the western boundary of the property known as “26 Dodds Park” to the access road for the garages.
Alternative Route – Wheelers Lane.
This Order is required to enable SES Water to facilitate a new connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 July 2025 for 4 days, between the hours of 8.00am and 4.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Blackberry Lane (D412) and Station Road (D412) Dormansland Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Blackberry Lane (D412) and Station Road (D412) Dormansland eastbound between the junction of High Street (C90) with Station Road and the junction of Blackberry Road (D412) with Blackberry Lane.
Alternative Route – Blackberry Lane, East Grinstead Road, B2028 (High Street, Town Hill and Racecourse Road), Dormans Road and High Street.
This Order is required due to the likelihood of danger to the public owing to an unsafe footbridge at Dormansland Station. The Order will come into operation on 22 July 2025 for 18 months, or until earlier termination by the Council. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicles owner.
By-Pass Road (A24) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the eastbound carriageway of By-Pass Road (A24) Leatherhead as extends from its junction at the Roundabout with (B2450) Dorking Road, (A246) Young Street, and (A24) Dorking Road, also known as the “Givons Grove Roundabout” eastwards for a distance of approximately 60 metres.
Alternative Route – B2450 Dorking Road; Church Street; The Crescent; Epsom Road; and A24 By-Pass Road. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 21 July 2025 is required to facilitate telecoms utility works and/or telecoms ducting works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Centrecomms Ltd within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 11 days between the hours of 7pm and 6am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic including the emergency services and local residents will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Grange Road (D2575) Ashtead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Grange Road (D2575) Ashtead as extends from its junction with A24 Leatherhead Road north-westwards for a distance of 30 metres.
Alternative Route – A24 Leatherhead Road; Ottways Lane; and Grange Road. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 23 July 2025 is required to facilitate mains gas replacement and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over six weeks between the hours of 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am and 5pm on Saturday. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Wilderwick Road (C90) East Grinstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 25 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Wilderwick Road (C90) East Grinstead. Alternative Route: Sandhawes Hill, (A264) Holtye Road, Shepherdsgrove Lane, Hollow Lane, and High Street, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate safe pole testing works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 09 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
B290 New Road, Tadworth Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 25 June 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of B290 New Road, Tadworth. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 2 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained via a pedestrian walkway within the carriageway. Alternative Route – B2220 Tadworth Street, A217 Brighton Road (Roundabout) and B2032 Dorking Road.
Old Road (D309) Buckland Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Old Road (D309) Buckland as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “The Old Way House” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Priors Lees”.
Alternative Route: Old Road (Buckland), Old Road (Betchworth), Old Reigate Road, Station Road, (A25) Reigate Road, and Old Road (Buckland), or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate electrical connection works for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Rose Hill (D2858) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rose Hill (D2858) Dorking as extends from its junction with (D2858) Upper Rose Hill to its junction with (T8061) Peacock Walk (Townpath). This Order is required to facilitate new water mains connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates or trench links, if required, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Holly Lane (B2219) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Holly Lane (B2219) Banstead as extends from its junction with (B2219) Garratts Lane to its junction with (D1088) Holly Lane West. Alternative Route: (B2219) Holly Lane, (B2219) Lower Park Road, (B2032) Outwood Lane, (B278) Rectory Lane, (B278) Carshalton Road, (A2022) Croydon Lane, (A2022) Winkworth Road, (B2217) Sutton Lane, (B2217) High Street, and (B2219) Bolters Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
C224 Frenches Road, Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C224 Frenches Road, Redhill which extends from junction with D1262 Ormside Way to its junction with D1262 Osborne Road. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 July 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Alternative Route – A23 London Road,A23 London Road South,C225 New Battlebridge Lane and C224 Ormside Way.
