Proposed Resourced Provision at Wigmore Primary School for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Luton Borough Council, Town Hall, Luton LU1 2BQ intends to make a prescribed alteration to Wigmore Primary School (community primary school), Twyford Drive, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU2 9TB.
The proposal is to open a SEND resourced provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health special needs, on the mainstream school site at Wigmore Primary School for eight pupils initially, with a possibility of increasing to sixteen children in the future. These places are exclusively for pupils whose Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) identify that a specialist SEMH resourced provision, attached to a mainstream school, is best able to meet their needs. The provision will provide a highly structured and personalised adapted curriculum, with specialist supported integration into mainstream activities and lessons when pupils are academically, socially and emotionally ready.
