Notice Of Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic – Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Moss Lane/Flying Fields Drive, Macclesfield

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Moss Lane, Macclesfield – From the side of House No1 to the junction of The Roaches.

Flying Fields Drive, Macclesfield – At the junction of Moss Lane.

The alternative route will be via Congleton Road, Park Lane, Park Lane Roundabout, Park Street, Mill Lane, Cross Street, London Road, Moss Lane and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Monday 28 July 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Wednesday 6 August 2025.

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL – (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping And Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Amendment No. 40) 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 38, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 61 and 124 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers and in accordance with its duty under Section 122 of the said Act.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to:-
Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Prohibition and restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by:

i. Revoking the No Waiting At Any Time as outlined in Schedule 1 below

ii. Introduction of No Waiting At Any Time Except Taxis as outlined in schedule 2 below

iii. and by replacing Map Tile No. BE152 in the Consolidation Order schedules.

The restrictions and/or prohibitions imposed by this proposed Order shall be in addition to and not in derogation of any restrictions or requirements imposed by any regulations made or having effect as if made under the Act or by or under any other enactment.

SCHEDULE 1 – (Revocation of No Waiting at Any Time)
Mill Street, Macclesfield (West side) – from a point 32 metres north-west of the north-western kerbline of Duke Street, for a distance of 24 metres in a north-westerly direction.

SCHEDULE 2 – (Introduction of No Waiting At Any Time Except Taxis 10pm-4am)
Mill Street, Macclesfield (West side) – from a point 32 metres north-west of the north-western kerbline of Duke Street, for a distance of 24 metres in a north-westerly direction.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians
Public Footpath No.11 (Part) Parish Of Sutton

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 11 (Part) Parish of Sutton which commences at OS grid reference SJ 9525 7153 and runs in a generally southernly direction for approximately 361 metres to the junction with Footpath No. 10 Parish of Sutton at OS grid reference SJ 9518 7120.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger while works are taking place on or adjacent to the Public Right of Way at Ridgegate Reservoir.

The Order came into force on 26th May 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
