What is happening?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL (RESTRICTED BYWAY 8 (PART), PARISH OF

WHITCHURCH RURAL)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025

The above named order made on 22 nd May 2025 by the Shropshire Council (“the
Council”) under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the
Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, will divert 159 metres of Restricted Byway 8
which runs through The Beeches off Alkington Road.
A copy of the order and the order map and an explanatory statement have been
placed and may be seen on the Council’s website at

or obtained free of charge via

outdoor.recreation@shropshire.gov.uk

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the
Shropshire Council, Rights of Way Team, Riggs Hall, Castle Gates, Shrewsbury,
SY1 2AS or by email to

outdoor.recreation@shropshire.gov.uk

not later than 19 th
June 2025 Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are
withdrawn, the Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for
confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
