What is happening?

MARINE AND COASTAL ACCESS ACT 2009
APPLICATION FOR DRYPOOL BRIDGE PROPOSED DE SILTING AND LOWER LEVEL SCAFFOLD

Notice is hereby given that Mr Conn, ESH CONSTRUCTION LIMITED, Esh House, Bowburn North Industrial estate, Bowburn, Durham, DH6 5PF has applied to the Marine Management Organisation under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, Part 4, for a marine licence to undertake essential maintenance on the Drypool Bridge in Hull East fixed span.

The East fixed span is supported on a reinforced concrete grillage of beams and columns which need urgent repairs including concrete repair and replacement to the supporting columns. New bearings and transverse bracing beams are needed and the concrete deck and requires reinforcing. The proposed works include removal of 1150 cubic metres (m3) of accumulated silts below the East span and around the Fender areas to allow access to a lower working area, Scaffold insulation for access to complete low level concrete inspections, repair works and cathodic protection. Representations in respect of the application should ordinarily be made by:

– Visiting the MMO public register at https://marinelicensing.marinemanagement.org.uk/mmofox5/fox/live/MMO_PUBLIC_ REGISTER/search?area=3 [marinelicensing.marinemanagement.org.uk] and accessing the ‘Public Representation’ section of case reference MLA/2025/00123;

However, we will also accept representations via the following formats:

– By email to marine.consents@marinemanagement.org.uk; or alternatively

– By letter addressed to Marine Management Organisation, Lancaster House, Hampshire Court, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7YH

In all cases, correspondence must:

– Be received within 28 days of the date of the first notice (1);

– Quote the case reference; and

– include an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent.

The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
