Christopher Brain Street Area - One Way Traffic, Contraflow Cycle Lane and Loading Place

What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL
CHRISTOPHER BRAIN STREET AREA, ONE WAY TRAFFIC, CONTRAFLOW CYCLE LANE AND LOADING PLACE – TRAFFIC ORDERS

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE it proposes to make the following traffic orders:-

A. CAE/RGW/P-1316A – the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Hengrove Promenade Area, Hengrove and Whitchurch Park Ward, City of Bristol) (One Way Traffic and Contraflow Cycle Lane) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-

1. to introduce a south westbound contraflow cycle lane in Christopher Brain Street;

2. to remove the existing one way provision for vehicles in The Boulevard; and

3. to retain the existing one way provisions for vehicles in Christopher Brain Street, Hangar Way and Hengrove Promenade.

B. CAE/RGW/P-1316B – the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Hengrove Promenade Area, Hengrove and Whitchurch Park Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Loading Places) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-

1. to introduce a loading place in The Boulevard in place of existing prohibition and restriction of waiting and loading/unloading provisions; and

2. to bring forward unchanged all other provisions currently regulated by the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Hengrove Promenade Area, Hengrove and Whitchurch Park Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2017, which would be revoked.

Further details of the proposals are contained in the draft orders, which together with plans, copies of the orders to be revoked and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the orders may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point, 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The draft orders, plans and a Statement of Reasons are also available to view on the City Council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/trafficorders.

How to object
Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to TRO Comments at the undermentioned address or by e-mail to tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk quoting the relevant reference by 30th May 2025.

Please include your name and address and note that all representations received may be considered in public by the City Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
