ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS – Public Footpath No. 7 (Part) And 9 Parish of Wardle, Public Footpath No. 10 (Part) And 9 Parish of Stoke And Public Footpath No. 11 (Part) Parish Of Cholmondeston
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That Public Footpath No.7 (Part) in the parish of Wardle, which commences at the junction with Wardle Footpath 8 at OS grid reference SJ 61151 5712 and runs in a generally south east direction for approx. 379m. to OS grid reference SJ 6146 5688.
That Public Footpath No. 10 (Part) in the parish of Stoke, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 6146 5688 and runs in a generally south south east direction for approx. 327m. to the junction with Bremilow’s Bridge at OS grid reference SJ 6164 5662.
That Public Footpath No. 9 in the parish of Wardle, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 61267 5702 and runs in a generally north east direction for approx. 762m. to OS grid reference SJ 6344 5765.
That Public Footpath No. 9 in the parish of Stoke, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 6344 5765 and runs in a generally east direction for approx. 581m. to OS grid reference SJ 6247 5728.
That Public Footpath No. 11 (Part) in the parish of Cholmondeston, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 6247 5728 and runs in a generally east north east direction for approx. 1053m. to the junction with Cholmondeston Bridge OS grid reference SJ 6344 5765.
The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public posed by a damaged bridge crossing.
The closure continues the restriction that came into force on 10 April 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed.
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Temporary Restriction Of Pedestrians – Public Footpath No. 35 (Part) And No. 36 (Part) Town of Sandbach
Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Act has approved the Order effective from the 23 October 2023 being extended and continuing in force until the 23 June 2027. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following lengths of Public Right of Way:
That length of Public Footpath No. 35 in the Town of Sandbach which commences at OS grid reference SJ 7384 6198 and runs in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 52 metres to OS grid reference SJ 7388 6195.
That length of Public Footpath No. 36 in the Town of Sandbach which commences at OS grid reference SJ 7388 6195 and runs in a generally south easterly then easterly direction for approximately 47 metres to OS grid reference SJ 7392 6193.
The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger whilst the railway bridge is replaced.
Alternative Route – An alternative route is available via the highway network.
