What is happening?

The Dalbeattie Bequest
(Formerly William Blyth Trust)

Dumfries and Galloway Council is appointed by the Trustees to administer the income from The Dalbeattie Bequest. 

The organisation’s purposes are: the prevention or relief of poverty in Dalbeattie. 

To provide at the discretion of the charity trustees financial support to inhabitants of the burgh of Dalbeattie in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages act as a “grant giving” foundation supporting local community charities and organisations providing support and assistance to those suffering physically or mental disability primarily in the burgh of Dalbeattie.

(A711 John Street, Dalbeattie)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) Order 2025

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close A711 John Street, Dalbeattie between Barhill Road and Station Road junctions from 0900 on 21/04/25 to 1700 on 16/06/25. 

The closure is necessary to facilitate carriageway strengthening works. Alternative route available via A711, B794, A75(T), U225n, A711 and vice versa. 

Emergency access will not be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.


(U4S Achie) (Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) Order 2025

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the U4s at new development opposite Four Acres, Old Edinburgh Road, New Galloway from 9am on 23/04/2025 to 5pm on 07/05/2025.

The closure is necessary to facilitate water connections to new developments. Alternative route available via A762, A712 and vice versa. Emergency access will not be available if required.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.


(U434S Longacre Road & U433S Garden Hill Road) 
(Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) No. 2 Order 2025

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily suspend parking on U434s Longacre Road Castle Douglas from its junction with Garden Hill Road to No. 5 (both sides) & U433s Garden Hill Road Castle Douglas from its junction with Longacre Road to outside No. 5 (both sides) from 22/04/25 to 24/04/25 (0930 to 1530 daily). 

The suspension is necessary to facilitate BT ducting works. 

Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
