Newry, Mourne and Down District Council
is inviting views on its draft Performance
Improvement Objectives for 2025-2026.
The Local Government Act (NI) sets out a
General Duty of Improvement, whereby the
Council is required to make arrangements
to secure continuous improvement in the
exercise of its functions.
As part of this duty, the Council is also
required to set performance improvement
objectives for the services it provides and to
have in place arrangements to achieve
these objectives.
The arrangements the Council has put in place
to secure continuous improvement are subject
to an annual Audit and Assessment by the
Northern Ireland Audit Office.
