(Various Roads, Chelmsford Half Marathon) (Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) and (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Order to facilitate the Chelmsford Half Marathon.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the following lengths of road in Chelmsford City Centre and the parishes of Great Baddow, Chelmer, Sandon, Stock, and Springfield in the City of Chelmsford:
Road Closure for 28 February 2025 until 02 March 2025

A1099 High Bridge Road - Entire length (between Parkway Roundabout and Springfield Road Roundabout). - 05:00 to 10:30
A1114 Essex Yeomanry Way (Eastbound), Great Baddow Between Army & Navy Roundabout to Howe Green Roundabout. (Closure will be lifted by 12:00, unless contingency route implemented) 05:00 to 13:00

Road Description
A1099 High Bridge Road Diversion Northbound via A1060 Parkway, Victoria Road South, Duke Street, Victoria Road and A1099 Springfield Road Southbound via Victoria Road, Duke St, Victoria Road South and A1060 Parkway
A1114 Essex Yeomanry Way Diversion Eastbound via Princes Road, Three Mill Hill, A12 Woodhill Road Diversion Woodhill Road, Molrams Lane, Maldon Road and Hull’s Lane.
Chelmer Village Way Diversion West/Southbound via Chelmer Village Way. East/Northbound via New Dukes Way and the A138 Chelmer Road.
To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit to commence on the 02 March for 1 day on Maldon Road, in the City of Chelmsford from 50 meters east of Molrams Lane to 50 meters east of Brick Kiln Road for a length of approximately 410 metres. (The road is currently 60mph).
The closure of Alan Cherry Drive is scheduled to commence on the 28 February 2025 for 3 days between the times of 07:00 on the 28 February 2025 and 22:00 on the 02 March 2025.
The closures of the remaining roads are scheduled to commence on 02 March 2025 for 1 day between the times 07:00 and 22.00 or where appropriate signs are showing, and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Chelmsford Half Marathon event.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 02 March 2025 and may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout South, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout South, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 20m north east of its junction with Goodmans Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th March 2025 for 3 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2375803 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while lining renewal works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Great Leighs Bypass, Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout, Great Leighs Bypass.
The Order will come into effect on 6th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.7) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 6th March 2025, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.8) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in Schedule 1 to this Order.

Pines Road, Chelmsford - From its junction with Melbourne Avenue to its end a distance of approximately 695m (including all side roads).
(High Street, Ingatestone) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Ingatestone in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 20m south west of its junction with Common Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30073439925 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
Alternative routes are available via:

(North Hill, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of North Hill, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Colam Lane for a distance of approximately 130m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013327613 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via North Hill, The Ridge, Little Baddow Road, Main Road, Maldon Road, A12, A131, Main Road, Damases Lane, Mowden Hall Lane, Worlds End and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Twitty Fee/Hopping Jacks Lane, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Twitty Fee, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 135m north west of its junction with Runsell Lane for a distance of approximately 250m in a north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Hopping Jacks Lane, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Twitty Fee for a distance of approximately 25m in a westerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG2LHT7KETHSB & BC008WG2LHT7KETH01SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
