What is happening?
Lochgreens Battery Energy Storage System Proposal Notice of Pre-Application
Consultation Dates: 25th February and 2nd April 2025
PROPOSAL: 49.9 MW Lochgreens Battery Energy Storage System with associated infrastructure and works, and landscape and biodiversity enhancements.
LOCATION: The proposed development is to be located on Land at Lochgreens Farm, East of Parkhill Garden Centre, Dyce, Aberdeen, AB21 7AT.
Elgin Energy EsCo Ltd intend to submit a planning application to Aberdeenshire Council in respect of the above proposal.
A dedicated project website has been created to share information and to facilitate online feedback and comments via a digital questionnaire. The project website can be accessed at:

A community consultation open day will be held on Tuesday 25th February 2025 and Wednesday 2nd April at The Newmacher Hotel, Oldmeldrum Road, Newmachar, Aberdeen, AB21 0QD, between 1:30pm – 7pm, during which team members and project specialists will be available to discuss the proposal. All comments or feedback should be received before 18th April 2025 after which the online feedback facility will close.
Please note - Any submissions made as part of the community consultation stage are not representations to the Consenting Authority (Aberdeenshire Council) and do not in any way affect your statutory right to make representations to the Council, with regard to any application which may be submitted in due course. There will be an opportunity to make representations to the Council as and when a formal planning application for the proposal is submitted.
