LOCAL GOVERNMENT (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1982
STREET TRADING REVIEW - CHICHESTER CITY CENTRE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the council’s General Licensing Committee intends to pass the following resolution at its meeting on 5 March 2025.
That pursuant to its powers under paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 the General Licensing Committee meeting held on 5 March 2025 to designate further prohibited areas of the city to be varied, so that the locations described below are to become Consented Streets with effect from 9 May 2025.
Currently street trading by way of a Consent is prohibited within certain areas of the city centre unless designated ‘consented streets’.
We are proposing to extend the area of consented streets to include:
Chichester Cathedral – Cathedral Green (running around the front and eastern elevation to the Eastern Cloister) / South West Lawn / West Entrance and Paradise
Bishop Palace Gardens
Jubilee Gardens
East Pallant / South Pallant car parks
Cawley Priory car park
South Pall car park
Market Avenue / Road car parks
St Cyriacs car park
St John’s Street car park
Priory Park
The effect of the variation will be that street trading in those parts of the streets will continue to be prohibited unless it takes place under the authority of a Consent issued by the District Council.
Any person may submit representation in writing on the proposed variations by 20th March 2025 and these will be considered before considering passing the resolution.
Mr L Foord, Divisional Manager, Communications, Licensing & Events, Chichester District Council, East Pallant House, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1TY.
