NOTICE OF PROPOSAL – (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Amendment No.33) 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 38, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 61 and 124 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers and in accordance with its duty under Section 122 of the said Act.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to:

1. Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Prohibition and restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by;

i. introducing the No Waiting At Any Time prohibitions as outlined in Schedule 1 below and by replacing Map Tile No. BE154/BF155 in the Consolidation Order schedules.

The restrictions and/or prohibitions imposed by this proposed Order shall be in addition to and not in derogation of any restrictions or requirements imposed by any regulations made or having effect as if made under the Act or by or under any other enactment.

SCHEDULE 1 – (Introduction of No Waiting Restrictions)

South Acre Drive

• Both sides – From the junction with Buxton Road for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.

Buxton Road
• South side – From a point 10 metres east of South Acre Drive to a point 30 metres west of South Acre Drive.

• North side – From a point 2.5 metres west of Union Road for a distance of 12 metres in a westerly direction.

Easterly direction.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Various Locations Within Macclesfield

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Ridge Hill, Sutton – For the full extent

Wetton Way Sutton – For the full extent

Cock Hall Lane, Sutton – For the full extent

Langley Road, Sutton – For the full extent

Coalpit Lane, Macclesfield – For the full extent

This order will come into operation on Monday 6 March 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 21 March 2025.

Cheshire East Borough Council (Footpath No’s 43 and 46 (parts) Parish of Poynton-with-Worth)-Public Path Diversion Order 2022

On 30th January 2025, the Cheshire East Borough Council confirmed the above named Order although it is not yet operational. It will become operational on the date on which the Council certifies that the terms of Article 2 within the order, have been complied with.

The effect of the above named Order, as confirmed, is to divert the following lengths of public footpath:

That length of Public Footpath No 43 in the Parish of Poynton-with-Worth commencing at OSGR (OS grid reference) SJ 9142 8403 and running south, south westerly for 17m to OSGR SJ 9141 8402, and then running west, south westerly for 60m to OSGR SJ 9136 8399 and then running southerly for 38m to its junction with Public Footpath No. 46 in the Parish of Poynton-with-Worth at OSGR SJ 9136 8396, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 9142 8403 and running southerly for 17m to OSGR SJ 9142 8402, and then running south westerly for 22m to OSGR SJ 9141 8400, and then running southerly for 55m to OSGR SJ 9142 8395, and then running south, south westerly for 18m to OSGR SJ 9141 8393, and then running southerly for 26m to OSGR SJ 9141 8390, and then running south easterly for 16m to OSGR SJ 9142 8389, and then running southerly for 100m to OSGR SJ 9145 8380, and then running westerly for 75m to OSGR SJ 9137 8379.

That length of Public Footpath No 46 in the Parish of Poynton-with-Worth commencing on Hazelbadge Road (UW2957) at OSGR SJ 9137 8378 and running northerly for 178m to OSGR SJ 9136 8396, and then running north westerly for 78m to OSGR SJ 9131 8402, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 9141 8400, and running north westerly for 46m to OSGR SJ 9137 8402, and then running westerly for 64m to OSGR SJ 9131 8402.

All directions are general, and all distances are approximate.

If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Act within 6 weeks of 12th February 2025 as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Act.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – S15 TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath No. 7 Parish of Prestbury

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 31st August 2025. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath Number No. 7 Prestbury which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9076 7741 and runs in a generally north north east direction and then east north east direction for approx. 424 m. to OSGR SJ 9099 7773. The closure is necessary until essential bridge repairs are completed.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath No. 29 Parish of Prestbury

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 12th March 2026. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 29 Prestbury which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 8799 7670 and runs in a generally south direction for approx. 437m. to OSGR SJ 8806 7628.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger due to a collapsed riverbank preventing access to the bridge crossing.

An alternative route is available via the Public Rights of Way Network.
