Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003) Notice of application to vary a full licence to abstract (take) water

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence. The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006. The application is to vary licence serial number 6/33/37/*G/0200, which authorises water abstraction from underground strata comprising Chalk from three boreholes at National Grid Reference TL 87 62, for public water supply purposes. The variation applied for is to extend the “hands-off flow” condition on the licence, which is set to expire on 31 March 2025. This extension is required to align with the delivery timeline of their Strategic Pipeline Alliance project. No other changes to the licence are being proposed as part of this variation.
