DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF KENT
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (RESTRICTED BYWAY AB27 AT TENTERDEN)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2021
On 16 October 2024 an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above Order with modifications.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by amending the statement entry for Restricted Byway AB27 to add a width as follows:
From its connection with Small Hythe Road (B2082) at point A on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8840 3273), via point B on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8830 3259), via point C on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8832 3246), via point D on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 88354 32277), via point E on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8834 3216), via point F on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8833 3215), via point G on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8809 3202), to point H on the Order plan (Grid Reference: NGR TQ 8755 3177), a width as shown on the 25 Inch Third Edition Ordnance Survey map sheet references Kent LXXI.16, Kent LXXIX.4 and Kent LXXIX.3, published in 1908.

This Order became operative as from 16 October 2024 but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53(3)(c)(iii) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, theymay, under Paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 20 December 2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH AW188 (PART), SMARDEN)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024
The above Order was made on 11 December 2024 under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The effect of the Order will be to divert the entire width of that length of public footpath numbered AW188, which commences on an unaffected length of public footpath AW188 at NGR TQ 8820 4247 (Point A), and travels in a south southwesterly direction for 106 metres to where the path terminates on The Street at NGR TQ 8817 4237 (Point B). As shown on the order plan between Points A–B and will add a new length of public footpath numbered AW188 with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at the aforementioned Point A and travels in a southerly direction for 87 metres to where the path terminates on The Street at NGR TQ 8820 4239 (Point C). As shown on the order plan between points A-C

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent or delivered in writing to Michael Tonkin at the Kent County Council (address as below; email as above) no later than 17 January 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn Ashford Borough Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

Notice of the intention to make an Order to temporarily close Public Bridleway NU27

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991
Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Bridleway NU27 between The Drove Way and the rear of Istead Rise Community Centre from the 13 January 2025
The path will be closed for a maximum of six months.
The path is to be closed because works are planned on or near it.
The alternative route for pedestrians is via the community centre car park and into the field and will be signed for the duration of the closure. There is no alternative for equestrians or bike users.

Kent County Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath WB54 between Hawkenbury Road and the entrance to the recreation ground car park from 13 January 2025
The path will be closed for a maximum of six months although it is expected that it will reopen 8 March 2025
The path is to be closed because of works on or near the path.
The alternative route is via Hawkenbury Road and the Recreation ground car park and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

To hold a public local inquiry into the Order
The effect of the Order, if confirmed without modifications, will be to add a public footpath numbered WB72, which commences at its connection with Blackhurst Lane adjacent to the property known as Hamptons, at NGR TQ 6114 4124 (point A) and runs south south-east for 60 metres, then turns to run south-west for 187 metres to its connection with the publicly maintainable section of Sandown Park at NGR TQ 6105 4103 (point C). The path has a width of 6.1 metres at its connection with Blackhurst Lane (the aforementioned point A) for 16 metres, widening to 6.9 metres at NGR TQ 6115 4122 (point B). From point B, the path widens to 9.5 metres throughout its remaining length to the aforementioned point C, inclusive of the mature trees growing within the verges. Between the points A-B-C on the Order plan.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH WT302 (part), BRENCHLEY AND MATFIELD) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024
On 21 November 2024 the Kent County Council confirmed the above Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of that Order as confirmed is to divert the entire width of that length of public footpath WT302, which commences on an unaffected length of public footpath WT302 at NGR TQ 6704 4117 (point A) and heads in a southwest direction for 27 metres to its junction with Tibbs Court Road at NGR TQ 6702 4116 (point B) as indicted between points A-B on the Order plan and to provide a new length of public footpath numbered WT302, with a width of 2 metres, which commences at the aforementioned point A before heading in a southeast direction for 9 metres to NGR TQ 6704 4116 (point C). The path then heads in a southwest direction for 28 metres to its junction with Tibbs Court Road at NGR TQ 6702 4115 (point D), as indicated between points A-C-D on the Order plan.

The Order comes into force on 20 December 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (the Act), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, and as applied by s53A(7) WCA, within 6 weeks from the 20 December 2024, make an application to the High Court.
