(STAR MILL LANE, CHATHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a gas disconnection to be made to former fire station -

Star Mill Lane, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Rainham Road and the junction with Watling Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Ash Tree Lane and Watling Avenue. The one way restriction in Watling Avenue will be suspended.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 11 November 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 11 November 2024 and are programmed for completion within 11 days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

STAR MILL LANE, CHATHAM:

WAITING RESTRICTIONS - NOTICE OF MAKING

(CHATHAM) (PARKING PLACES AND WAITING,

LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS)

(AMENDMENT NO.34) ORDER 2024

1. Notice is hereby given that Medway Council on 5 November 2024 made the abovementioned Order under sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 37, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 11 November 2024, will be to extend the existing double lines on the east side of Star Mill Lane (south of Watling Street) into the junction of the new Maynard Square development (for approximately 2 metres) to prevent obstructive parking and improve sightlines at the access road to the new homes and supermarket to be constructed on the former Fire Station site. This does not reduce any parking.

3. Copies of the Order and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

4. Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

(FOOTPATH RC9, CHATHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily close Footpath RC9 for safety reasons during building works -

Footpath RC9, Chatham - to be closed between the junction with Shawstead Road and the junction with North Dane Way. An alternative pedestrian route will be available via footpaths RC11; RC13A and RC15.

This Order will come into force on Friday, 1 November and will be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. If the building works cannot be completed within six months of this date application will be made to Department for Transport for the closure to be extended. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
