NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Townley Street, Macclesfield

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – Townley Street, Macclesfield – From the Junction with Sunderland Street to the Junction of Charlotte Street.

The alternative route will be via Charlotte Street, Pickford Street, Sunderland Street and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Monday 18 November 2024 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 29 November 2024.

Public Rights of Way Notice

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS

Public Footpath No. 69 (Part) Parish of Rainow

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 26 October 2025. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 69 (Part) Rainow which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9492 7579 and runs in a generally south-southeasterly direction for approx. 396 m. to OSGR SJ 9512 7546.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger while essential works are taking place on or near the footpaths.

Works are required to the path due to damage caused by a landslip.

An alternative route is available via the Public Rights of Way Network.
