What is happening?
South Gloucestershire Council
(Swan Lane, Winterbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Use By Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles And Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Swan Lane which extends from Green Lane to High Lane.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon joint box access and cabling works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 24 October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Alternative route: Swan Lane (parts unaffected), Old Gloucester Road, Beacon Lane, High Street and vice versa.
(Old Gloucester Road and Alexander Road, Frenchay) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon surfacing works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 21 October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.
Schedule: 1. Old Gloucester Road – from Bristol Road northwards for 50m; 2. Alexander Road – from Bristol Road south eastwards for 25m. Alternative routes (vice versa):
1. Old Gloucester Road, Bristol Road; 2. Frenchay Park Road, Begbrook Park.
(Coniston Road, Patchway) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Coniston Road which extends from Water Side Drive north westwards for 80m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 21 October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.
Alternative route: Windermere Road, Pretoria Road, Bradley Road and vice versa.
(Shaymoor Lane, Pilning) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Shaymoor Lane which extends from a point 130m south east of Station Road south eastwards
for 50m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works. The order became operative from 2 October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. No alternative route available.
(Freezing Hill Lane, Cold Ashton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Freezing Hill Lane which extends from a point 734m south west of A420 London Road south westwards for 675m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole testing works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 30 September 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Alternative route: Freezing Hill Lane (parts unaffected), Bath Road, London Road and vice versa.

Please note that the law requires that any comments received on a planning application are made publicly available.
In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
