What is happening?

MARINE (SCOTLAND) ACT 2010
THE MARINE LICENSING (PRE-APPLICATION CONSULTATION) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2013

Notice is hereby given that MarramWind Ltd, (SC719634, 50 Lothian Road, Festival Square, Edinburgh EH3 9WJ) intends to hold two pre application consultation events regarding proposed licensable marine activity within Scottish Territorial Waters north east of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire (central grid reference 58°09′10″N, 000°35′45″W).

The proposed MarramWind Offshore Windfarm is located between 75-110km offshore. The activity within Scottish Territorial Waters consists of the installation of wind turbine generators with floating units and mooring systems, offshore transmission infrastructure including substations and other platform installations, array cables between the wind turbine generators and submarine export cables from the windfarm site to landfall on the Aberdeenshire coast.

MarramWind Ltd intends to apply to Marine Directorate Licensing Operations Team for marine licences for the above proposal.

As part of the pre-application consultation process for the proposed marine licences, the Applicant intends to hold two public consultation events. The first event will be held at Palace Hotel, Prince Street, Peterhead, AB42 1PL between 1pm and 7pm on 29 October 2024.

The second event will take place at the Longside Football Club, Davidson Park/Station Rd, Peterhead AB42 4GR between 1pm and 7pm on 30 October 2024.

The Applicant will hold two online public events on 07 October and 07 November 2024 between 6pm and 7pm, email

Details of the site and the proposals will be available at the events and representatives of the Applicant will be present in order to answer any questions that may arise. Comment leaflets will be available at the events and comments on the proposal can be made at the events or submitted by email at stakeholder@marramwind.com or in writing to FREEPOST MarramWind from 09 October to 11:59pm on 19 November 2024.

Please note that all written representations on the pre-application consultation must be sent to the above address and not to Marine Directorate Licensing Operations Team (MD-LOT). Comments made to the Applicant are not representations to MD-LOT. If the Applicant submits an application, there will be an opportunity to make representations on that application to MD-LOT.
