What is happening?

(ROOD FAIR, DUMFRIES) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2024

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close C202n Dockhead and A781 Whitesands from 18:00 on 23/9/24 to 22:00 on 29/9/24.

The closure is necessary in the interests of road safety for occupation of part of the carriageway to allow for holding of the Annual Rood Fair. The alternative routes are:- i) Dockhead closed to northbound traffic – via St Michaels Bridge Rd, St Michaels St and Nith St, ii) Whitesands closed to southbound traffic between Bank St and Nith St – via Bank St, Irish St and Nith St.

DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY REGIONAL COUNCIL (VARIOUS CAR PARKS) (USE RESTRICTIONS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 1985 (AS AMENDED) SUSPENSION OF USE OF BROOMS ROAD CAR PARK, DOCKHEAD CAR PARK, DOCKPARK CAR PARK AND WHITESANDS (WEST) CAR PARK, DUMFRIES

In accordance with the provisions of the above Traffic Regulation Order, the Council gives notice that the use of the Brooms Road Car Park (area near to Brooms Road) shall be suspended from 12:00 22/9/24 to 12:00 30/9/24 and Dockhead Car Park/Whitesands (west) Car Park 18:00 on 23/9/24 to 23:30 29/9/24 to accommodate vehicles/trailers associated with the annual Rood Fair.

(C201N MOFFAT ROAD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2024

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close C201n Moffat Road, between the junctions of Greystone Loaning and Carnegie Street, Dumfries from 0930 on 24/09/24 to 2359 on 24/09/24. The closure is necessary to facilitate Scottish Water CCTV and vactoring works. Alternative route available via Edinburgh Road, Lovers Walk, St Mary’s Street, Moffat Road and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(U111N CRAIGS ROAD (EAST)) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) NO.2 ORDER 2024

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close U111n from its junction with U110n to New Bungalow, Craigs Road, Dumfries from 25/09/24 to 27/09/24 (0930 to 1530 daily). The closure is necessary to facilitate ducting works to provide service to customer. Alternative route available via U110n, U108n, U111n and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
