What is happening?

Goosnargh Oliverson's Church of England Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Lancashire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Goosnargh Oliverson's Church of England Primary School (Voluntary Aided), Goosnargh Lane, Goosnargh, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 2BN from 1st September 2026.

It is proposed that the school will increase its Published Admission Number to admit 30 additional pupils to each Reception Intake from September 2026, through the provision of additional permanent accommodation on the existing school site. This follows the school exceeding its Published Admission Number by 30 places in 2025/26 via the provision of additional temporary accommodation. The expansion would gradually increase the capacity of the primary school from 210 to 420, by increasing the number of pupils admitted to September Reception Year intake from 30 to 60.

The current capacity of the school is 210 and the proposed capacity will be 420. The current number of pupils registered at the school is 204. The current Published Admission Number for the school is 30 and the proposed Published Admission Number will be 60 from September 2026.

This Notice is an extract from the complete proposal. Further information can be obtained from the school, Longridge library, Fulwood library, Ribbleton library, Sharoe Green library and from Preston City Council & Ribble Valley Borough Council.
