NOTICE OF MAKING OF PUBLIC
SPACES PROTECTION ORDER
THE WORCESTER CITY COUNCIL
(ALCOHOL CONTROL) PUBLIC SPACES
PROTECTION ORDER 2024
(“THE ORDER”)
TAKE NOTICE THAT:
1. Worcester City Council has carried out the
necessary consultation on its proposal to
make the Order in accordance with section
72 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and
Policing Act 2014 (“the Act”).
2.The Order was made on the 10th
September 2024 in accordance with
section 59 of the Act and comes into force
on the 20th September 2024 and will
expire, unless extended, on the 12th
August 2027.
3. Further information on the content of the
Order, penalty levels, maps = and
exemptions can be found at:

copy of the Order is also available to view
or purchase at the Customer Service
Centre 89 High Street Worcester WR1 2EY
between 9:00 (9:30 Weds) and 16:00
Monday to Friday. Emailed copies of the

4. Under the provisions of section 66 of the
Act an interested person may apply to the
High Court within 6 weeks from the date of
the PSPO is made to question the validity
of the PSPO on the grounds that:
a) That the Council did not have the power
to make the order or to include particularly
prohibitions or requirements imposed by
the Order;
b) That a requirement under Chapter 2 of
the Act was not complied with in relation to
the Order.
5. An interested person is defined by section
66(2) of the Act as being an individual who
lives in the restricted area (as defined in
the Order) or who regularly works or visits
that area.
