What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (A461 Horseley Heath, Tipton) (Temporary Road and Side Road Closures) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following roads in Tipton: A461 Horseley Heath will be one-way from its junction with Tame Road to its junction with Meeting Street, with vehicles prohibited from travelling inanorth-easterly direction (anticipated date 11/08/2024). A diversion route for north-eastbound traffic will be signed via Tame Road, Sheepwash Lane, Whitehall Road and Great Bridge. Tame Road from its junction with Horseley Heath to its junction with the entrance to the car park of the Port ‘n’ Ale Public House (anticipated date 18/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Sheepwash Lane, Whitehall Road, Ryders Green Road, Dudley Street, A41 Black Country New Road, A461 Great Western Way, A461 Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Meeting Street from its junction with Horseley Heath to its junction with the entrance to Lidl’s car park, the right turn off Horseley Heath into Meeting Street will also be prohibited for the duration of the works (anticipated dates 11/08/2024 & 18/08/2024 – 4pm to 11pm). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Leech Street from its junction with Horseley Heath foradistance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated date 18/08/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Lewis Street from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction (anticipated dates 19 & 20/08/2024&27&28/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Tame Road, Ballfields, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Ballfields from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction (anticipated dates 19 & 20/08/2024 & 27&28/08/2024 & 29&30/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Horseley Heath, Lewis Street, Tame Road and vice-versa. Scott Street (easterly entrance) from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated dates 19&20/08/2024 & 27&28/08/2024. A diversion route will be signed via Horseley Heath, Scott Street (westerly entrance) and vice-versa. Scott Street (westerly entrance) from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated dates 19 & 20/08/2024 & 29 & 30/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Scott Street, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Railway Street from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated dates 19 & 20/08 & 29&30/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Horseley Heath, Horseley Road and vice-versa. Denbigh Road from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a south-easterly direction (anticipated dates 21/08/2024 & 29&30/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Bevan Road, Johns Lane, Dudley Port and vice-versa. William Kerr Road from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a south easterly direction (anticipated dates 21/08/2024 & 29 & 30/08/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Mill Street from its junction with Market Place for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction (anticipated dates 27 & 28/08/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Providence Street from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction (anticipated dates 27 & 28/08/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Tame Road, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Arnham Way from its junction with Horseley Heath foradistance of 30 metres in a south-easterly direction (anticipated dates 29 & 30/08/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Dovecote Close from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction (anticipated dates 29 & 30/08/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Lower Church Lane from its junction with Dudley Port for a distance of 30m inanortherly direction (anticipated date 01/09/2024). Diversion routes will be signed via Dudley Port, Sedgley Road East, Park Lane West, Owen Street and vice-versa, and via Alexandra Road, Horseley Road, New Road, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Horseley Heath from its junction with A461 Horseley Heath (western boundary of No.10 Horseley Heath) to its junction with Lower Church Lane (anticipated date 01/09/2024). Diversion routes will be signed via Dudley Port, Sedgley Road East, Park Lane West, Owen Street and vice-versa, and via Alexandra Road, Horseley Road, New Road, Horselely Heath and vice-versa. Station Drive from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a north-westerly direction (anticipated date 01/09/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Peake Drive from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a south-easterly direction (anticipated date 01/09/2024). This road isacul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. Horseley Road from its junction with Horseley Heath for a ditance of 30 metres inanorth-westerly direction (anticipated dates 02 & 03/09/2024). Diversion routes will be signed via Horseley Heath, Lower Church Lane, Alexandra Road and vice-versa, and via Horseley Road, New Road, Horseley Heath and vice-versa. Heath Close from its junction with Horseley Heath for a distance of 30 metres in a north-westerly direction (anticipated dates 02 & 03/09/2024). This road isacul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. John’s Lane from its junction with Dudley Port for a distance of 30 metres in a south-easterly direction. The right turn off Horseley Heath into John’s Lane will also be prohibited for the duration of the works (anticipated dates 02 & 03/09/2024). A diversion route will be signed via Horseley Heath, Denbigh Drive, Bevan Road and vice-versa. St Paul’s Drive from its junction with Dudley Port for a distance of 30 metres in a north-westerly direction (anticipated dates 02 & 03/09/2024). This road is a cul-de-sac and no diversion route will be signed. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 03/09/2024 effective from 11/08/2024. Purpose – to facilitate resurfacing works asociated with a new cycleway by Bridge Construction for Sandwell MBC. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Phoenix Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary One-Way Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Phoenix Street, which will be closed one-way in a north easterly direction between the junctions of John Street (north-eastern side) and Great Bridge Street. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Ryders Green Road, Whitehall Road and Great Bridge Street. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 17/08/2024 effective from 12/08/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for electrical service repairs by National Grid Electricity Distribution.


The Borough Council of Sandwell (Oldbury Ringway, Oldbury) (Temporary No Right Turn Restriction) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from turning right from Oldbury Ringway (eastbound) to Seven Stars Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Oldbury Ringway (eastbound), Birmingham Road (eastbound) to the roundabout at the junction of Rood End Road, Birmingham Road (westbound) and Oldbury Ringway (westbound). The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 30/09/2024 effective from 12/08/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to install a joint bay and electrical service cable by Excalon on behalf of National Grid Electricity Distribution.
