Compulsory Purchase Order 2023

WHEREAS the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley Council (the Acquiring Authority) has submitted to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities for confirmation an Order made under section 226(1)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, section 13 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 and the Acquisition of Land Act 1981, which would authorise it to acquire compulsorily the land and new rights over land referred to in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of facilitating the development, redevelopment and improvement of the Order land by the provision of a four-storey higher education facility together with the associated access, car parking, servicing and landscaping following the demolition and clearance of the existing buildings on the Order land in order to contribute to the promotion and improvement of the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the Acquiring Authority’s area.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public local inquiry into this matter will be held by Katie McDonald MSc MRTPI at 10am Tuesday 14 May 2024 at Committee Rooms 1 and 2, The Council House, 4 Priory Rd, Dudley DY1 1HF. The Inquiry is estimated to last four days.
