Announcement Of Intention Not To Prepare An Environmental Statement (Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618
Gooseum Reservoir
The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the Congresbury Yeo in Congresbury between the Millenium Bridge (NGR ST4389763803) and Congresbury Yeo Weir] (NGR ST4418363521), a distance of 400 metres.
The proposed improvement works will involve the following: The reduction of an existing spillway over a distance of 15 metres, with 1:20 slopes at either side to tie into the existing ground levels.
Also, minor works to an existing footpath and the installation of new gates at the existing northern embankment.
The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them.
The NEAS (National Environmental and Sustainability) Group Screening Register can be provided upon request, by emailing the Project Manager.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
