(Members’ Allowances)
(England) Regulations 2003

Notice is given pursuant to regulation 22(1)(b) of the Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 that Horsham District Council (‘the Council’) has received recommendations from an Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP) in respect of its Members’ Allowances Scheme.

The report of the IRP was made in accordance with regulation 21 of the Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003.

The IRP undertook an interim review in March 2024. The main features of the IRP’s recommendations following that review are as follows:

The co-opted Independent Member of the Audit Committee be provided with an allowance of £800 per annum.
The co-opted Independent Member of the Audit Committee be authorised to claim any travelling and subsistence expenses in accordance with the Members’ Allowances Scheme.

The IRP’s report (to be considered by Council on 24 April 2024) is available for inspection by members of the public on the Council’s website at www.horsham.gov.uk/allowances.

A copy of the report is available for inspection by members of the public at the Council’s principal office in Horsham during normal office hours. Any person wishing to obtain a copy of this document should contact Democratic Services, Horsham District Council, Parkside, Horsham, RH12 1RL.
