NOTICE OF MAKING

Allison Ave, Ambley Rd, Bailey Drive, Barnsole Rd, Burnt Oak Terrace, The Chase, Darland Ave, Featherby Rd, Goudhurst Rd and access rd, Grosvenor Rd, Hanway Rd, Hazlemere Dr, Hunters Way, Kingswood Rd, Leyton Ave, Livingstone Rd, Mill Rd, Osprey Ave, Parr Ave, Railway St, Rowland Ave

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 21 March 2024 made the above-mentioned order under sections 1, 2, 45, 46, 51, 53 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The general effect of the Amendment order, which comes into operation on 2 April 2024, will be to introduce or amend lengths of waiting and loading restrictions and parking places within Gillingham:

Double yellow lines

1) Allison Avenue – (a) North side, 9.5m westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue,

(b) South side, 8.5 metres westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue;

2) Ambley Road, Gillingham Business Park – North-east side, (a) 18.5m north-westwards from the junction of Matilda Close, (b) 43m south-eastwards from the junction of Matilda Close;

3) Bailey Drive, Gillingham Business Park – (a) North-west side, (i) 15m north-eastwards from the junction of Centurion Close, (ii) 15m south-westwards and 11.5m north-eastwards from the junction of the access road to MCH House,

(b) West side, 15m southwards from the junction of Centurion Close,

(c) South side, 58.5m south-westwards from the roundabout west of Ambley Rd (junction with access road to Phase 20), (d) South-east side, 28.5m south-westwards from opposite the south-west side of the access road to MCH House;

4) Burnt Oak Terrace – North side, (a) 20.6m eastwards from No.129 past the junction of Brooklyn Paddock, (b) reduce the existing double yellow lines west of Rosebery Road by 9m;

5) The Chase – (a) North-east side, 6.5m south-eastwards from the junction of Hanway, (b) South side, 8.5m eastwards from the junction of Hanway;

6) Darland Avenue – (a) East side, (i) a 49m extension to the existing double yellow lines south of The Star public house, opposite even Nos.12-20, (ii) 10m southwards from opposite No.28, (iii) 45.5m northwards from the access road to odd Nos.101-107, (iv) 27m southwards from the access road to odd nos.101-107,

(b) North-east side, (i) 15m north-westwards from opposite No.26, (ii) 35m north-westwards from the junction opposite No.46, (iii) 21.5m south-eastwards from the junction opposite No.46, (iv) 68m north-westerly from opposite No.80,

(c) South-west side, (i) 5.5m north-westwards from the junction of Rowland Ave, (ii) 6.5m south-eastwards from the junction of Rowland Ave, (iii) 5m on the outer corner opposite No.54, (iv) 5m north-westwards from the junction of Leyton Ave, (v) 10.5m south-eastwards from the junction of Leyton Ave,

(d) West side, (i) 4.5m northwards from the junction of Allison Ave, (ii) 4.5m southwards from the junction of Allison Ave, (iii) 9.7m northwards from the junction of Hunter’s Way, (iv) 10.1m southwards from the junction of Hunter’s Way;

7) Featherby Road – (a) West side, 8.5m northwards and 11m southwards from the junction of Hanway, (b) East side, 5.5m northwards and 10m southwards of The Chase;

8) Goudhurst Road – South-west side, 7.5m north-westwards and south-eastwards from the junction with the access road between Nos.64 and 66;

9) Goudhurst Road access road between Nos.64 and 66 – Both sides from the junction of Goudhurst Road southwards for 4 metres;

10) Grosvenor Road, Gillingham Business Park – North side, 15m westwards and eastwards of the junction with the access road to Hochiki (ME8 0SA);

11) Hanway – (a) North-west side, 9m south-westwards from the junction of Featherby Rd, (b) South side, 8.5m westwards from the junction of Featherby Rd;

12) Hazlemere Drive – North-east side, 28m between No.128 and the bus stop towards Woodlands Rd;

13) Hunter’s Way – (a) North side, 12.3m westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue,

(b) South side, 10.9m westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue;

14) Leyton Avenue – (a) North side, 5.5m westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue,

(b) South side, 7.5m westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue;

15) Rowland Avenue – Both sides, 8.5m westwards from the junction of Darland Avenue;

No loading Monday to Friday, 8 - 9.30am and 3 - 4.30pm

16) Railway Street – (a) North and north-west side, 134m westwards and south-westwards from the junction of Greenfield Road, over the railway bridge, (b) south side, 87.2m westwards from the access road by No.6, over the railway bridge;

Changes to existing single yellow line, double yellow lines and parking bays

17) Barnsole Road – North-east side, convert the existing single yellow line between Gillingham Road and Livingstone Road to double yellow lines;

18) Livingstone Road – Within the dead-end section by Barnsole Road, west of No.2, convert the existing single yellow line to double yellow lines;

19) Kingswood Road – North-east side, reduce the double yellow lines by 4m opposite the junction of East Street and extend the parking bay in their place.

20) Mill Road – East side, remove the single yellow line outside Nos.27, 28 & 29 and replace by extending the adjacent permit parking bays operating Mon-Sun 8am-10pm;

21) Osprey Avenue – South side, reduce the existing double yellow lines by 2.5m, rear of No.8 Darland Ave;

22) Parr Avenue – South side, reduce the double yellow lines by 5m alongside No.2 Rosebery Road and extend the parking bay in their place.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the act or any instrument made under the act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the above date on which the order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

Medway Council as Local Planning Authority has received the following applications which are being advertised to ascertain the views of persons living near the sites and other interested parties. The proposed developments relate to one or more of the following:

TAYLOR’S LANE, STROOD

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable utility works to be carried out -

Taylor’s Lane, Strood - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at the side of 9 High Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No alternative route is available. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

This order will come into force on Sunday, 28 April 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to be carried out on Sunday, 28 April 2024 and are programmed for completion within one day. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

SCOTT AVENUE, RAINHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply equipment to be repaired or replaced -

Scott Avenue, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontages of 40 to 44 Scott Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Wakeley Road, Otterham Qual Lane and High Street.

This order will come into force on Monday, 1 April 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 1 April 2024 and are programmed for completion within two weeks. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable the gas main to be replaced -

Nelson Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Gillingham Road and the junction with Seaview Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Gillingham Road and Canterbury Street.

This order will come into force on Monday, 1 April 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 1 April 2024 and are programmed for completion within four weeks. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

MINOR CANON ROW, ROCHESTER

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable the gas main to be replaced -

Minor Canon Row, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic (a) between Boley Hill and Kings Orchard, and (b) in the short section opposite St Margaret’s Mews and the entrance to Priors Gate. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via St Margaret’s Street.

This order will come into force on Friday, 29 March 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 29 March 2024 and are programmed for completion within three weeks. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

COOLING ROAD, HIGH HALSTOW

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable services to be connected to a property -

Cooling Road, High Halstow - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of ‘Notre Songe’, Cooling Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Ratcliffe Highway, Peninsula Way, Main Road and Four Elms Hill.

This order will come into force on Friday, 5 April 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Friday, 5 April 2024 and are programmed for completion within seven days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

BRENDON AVENUE, CHATHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable the gas main to be replaced -

Brendon Avenue, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic (a) for the whole length of Brendon Avenue and (b) in Sundridge Drive from Brendon Avenue to outside 34 (including alleyways) and (c) in Sundridge Drive from Brendon Avenue to the side of 29. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes will be provided and signed as the works progress.

This order will come into force on Monday, 29 April 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 29 April 2024 and are programmed for completion within three months. The work will be carried out in stages. The main works in Brendon Avenue are scheduled to be completed by 14 June. Works in Sundridge Drive are scheduled for (a) 6 May – 17 June at the junction with Brendon Avenue and (b) 17 June – 22 July at the junction with Broadlands Drive. Alternative routes will be provided and signed as the works progress. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a fire

hydrant to be replaced -

Barnsole Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 134 Barnsole Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Nelson Road and Gillingham Road.

This order will come into force on Tuesday, 2 April 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 2 April 2024 and are programmed for completion within ten days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
