South Cambridgeshire District Council
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in pursuance of Section 30 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (“the Act”) South Cambridgeshire District Council on the 27th February 2024 set the amounts of Council Tax for each of the categories of dwellings shown below for the financial year beginning the 1st of April 2024. In accordance with Section 38(2) of the Act, the amounts are shown below in Table 2. The amount of the Council Tax is made up of the Parish Council precept plus the precept for each of the four major precepting authorities. The Band D equivalent amount for each major precepting authority is set out in Table 1.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Sections 11, 11A and 11B of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 as amended by the Local Government Finance Act 2012 and The Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of dwellings) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012, South Cambridgeshire District Council by a resolution dated 31 January 2013 did determine that in respect of the whole of the South Cambridgeshire area the Council Tax discounts relating to the classes of prescribed dwelling set out below will be as follows:
1. Unoccupied furnished property (Second homes) – the Council Tax discount will be 0%
2. Unoccupied and substantially unfurnished properties – the Council Tax discount will be 0%
3. Long term empty dwellings, i.e. properties that have been empty and substantially unfurnished for a continuous period of at least 2 years, shall be charged 150% of the daily Council Tax charge for each day over 2 years they remain in such a condition.
Further to the above, on 21 February 2019, and in accordance with The Rating (Property in Common Occupation) and Council Tax (Empty Dwellings) Act 2018, a resolution was made by South Cambridgeshire District Council to amend the charges shown in point 3 (above) to be as follows: Long term empty dwellings, i.e. properties that have been unoccupied and substantially unfurnished for two years or more will be subject to an Empty Homes Premium charged in addition to the normal Council Tax liability. The additional proportions and effective dates are:

SWAVESEY BYE-WAYS ACT 1984
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 27th February 2024 that South Cambridgeshire District Council under the Swavesey Bye-ways Act 1984 made no change to the charge of £1.20 per hectare for the year commencing the 1st of April 2024 and ending on 31st March 2025. The charge is payable for each hectare or part thereof, for each hereditament exceeding 0.5 of a hectare which is (a) situated within the enclosure area and (b) used for the purposes of agriculture or the working of minerals.
