THE COUNCIL TAX (PRESCRIBED CLASSES OF DWELLING)
(ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2012/2964 COUNCIL TAX
HORSHAM DISTRICT COUNCIL hereby gives notice that on the 21 February 2024 it set the
Council Tax and as billing authority made the determinations in respect of the financial year beginning
on the 1 April 2024 as follows:

Second homes
That the Council Tax discount for second homes (furnished dwellings not the sole or main residence of any
individual) shall be 0%. From 1 April 2025, the Council Tax payable for second homes (furnished dwellings
not the sole or main residence of any individual) shall be 100%, plus an additional premium of 100%.
Empty dwellings
That the Council Tax discount for empty dwellings (being unoccupied and substantially unfurnished)
including uninhabitable shall be 0%.
Long term empty dwellings
That the Council Tax payable in respect of long-term empty dwellings (being unoccupied and substantially
unfurnished for a continuous period of over one year) will be 100% plus an additional premium of 100%.
That the Council Tax payable in respect of long-term empty dwellings (being unoccupied and substantially
unfurnished for a continuous period of over ten years) will be 100% plus an additional premium of 200%.
The determinations shall apply from 1 April 2024.
