SECTION 122 of the Local Government Act 1972
APPROPRIATION OF LAND comprising land at Union Place, Worthing BN11 1LG (“the Site”).
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Worthing Borough Council ("the Council") propose to appropriate land at Union Place, Worthing BN11 1LG in order to facilitate redevelopment of the Site.
Details of the proposed development are set out in planning application (Ref. No: AWDM/ 1618/23) submitted to the Worthing Borough Council acting as local planning authority on 21 November 2023 and comprise: ‘Construction of a mixed use development between 4 and 11 storeys comprising 216 residential apartments (including 20% Affordable Housing) of which 6 comprise Live/Work units at Union Place, together with commercial ground floor space at High Street, associated residential car parking, cycle parking, communal residential gardens and vehicular access from Chatsworth Road. In addition provision of a replacement public car park accessed from Union Place and new public realm provision’
Any comments to the proposed appropriation must be submitted in writing and addressed to Phil Graham, Worthing Borough Council, Worthing Town Hall, Chapel Road, Worthing, West Sussex, BN11 1HA phil.graham@adur-worthing.gov.uk no later than 4.00pm on 4th April 2024.
