What is happening?
Dissolution notice
This notice is given by the Corporation of The Blackpool Sixth Form College, Blackpool Old Road, Blackpool, FY3 7LR in accordance with the Further Education Corporation (Publication of Proposals) (England) Regulations 2012, S1 2012 No.1157. The Corporation proposes for the dissolution of The Blackpool Sixth Form College and the subsequent transfer of the property, rights and liabilities to The Coastal Collaborative Trust.The Blackpool Sixth Form College provides sixth form education for 16-19 year old students across a wide curriculum comprising A level and Level 3 Applied General courses, GCSE resit Maths and English courses and a small number of Level 2 courses. The current number of funded students is 2077.
The date proposed for the dissolution of The Blackpool Sixth Form College as a designated Sixth Form College and the transfer of the property, rights and liabilities to The Coastal Collaborative Trust is 1 July 2024 (or as soon is practically possible thereafter). All students currently attending The Blackpool Sixth Form College will continue their education in the new 16-19 academy. There are no plans to alter the education provision currently provided by The Blackpool Sixth Form College.

consultation@blackpoolsixth.ac.uk and will be sent to any person who requests it In accordance with the provisions of the Act, consultation on these proposals will run from 4th March to 4th April 2024. All responses and representations must be made by 4th April 2024.
A summary of the consultation and its outcome will be published within two months beginning on the date after the end of the consultation period. The summary will be available on the college’s website www.blackpoolsixth.ac.uk
