SCHEDULE 10 – WARDS AND PARISHES
The Roads described in Schedules 1 to 7 fall into the Parishes of Prestbury and Swindon of
Cheltenham Borough; the Wards of Battledown, Charlton Park, College, Pittville, Swindon Village,
Cleeve Grange, Cleeve West and Cleeve Hill of Cheltenham Borough; and Parishes of Bishops
Cleeve and Southam of Tewkesbury Borough
Please note that other roads may be affected at the discretion of the police to aid the
safe passage of traffic.
The reason for the closures and restrictions is to manage traffic during major events at
Cheltenham Racecourse.
The roads are expected to be closed and restricted at certain times between the
11th March 2024 and 1st January 2025. The Jockey Club will provide at least 28 days notice to
Gloucestershire County Council for any such event. It is likely that it will be predominately in use
from 12th March 2024 to 15h March 2024 and 8th November 2024 to 10th November 2024 and
also 1st January 2025. The presence of approved signage will indicate whether the restrictions
are in place.

a distance of approximately 2 kilometres.
The reason for the closure is for carriageway resurfacing works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 19:00hrs on 14th March 2024 until 07:00hrs

B4063 London Road from its junction with Cheltenham Road to its junction with Estcourt Road
for a distance of approximately 232 metres.
The reason for the closure is for Severn Trent Water repair works.
The said road is expected to be closed between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs on the

The above Order made on 18th January 2024 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, and
Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, if confirmed, will divert the lengths of
Public Footpath described in Part 1 of the Schedule hereto to a line described in Part 2. A copy
of the Order and map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Gloucestershire
County Council, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2TG and Forest of Dean District
Council, High Street, Coleford, Glos, GL16 8HG. Copies of the Order and Order Map may be

GGK/27/TH). Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the

Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come

That length of footpath GGK38 that runs from a point at OSGR SO 7027/2514 south of Wyatts
Farm in a north northwesterly direction for 33 metres to footpath GGK31 at OSGR SO7025/2517
and of undefined width.
That length of footpath GGK27 northwest of Wyatts Farm that runs from a point at OSGR
SO7014/2528 in a southeasterly direction for 159 metres to footpath GGK31 at OSGR
SO7024/2515 and of undefined width.
PART 2 Description of new paths
A length of footpath that runs from OSGR SO7027/2514 in a west northwesterly direction for 30
metres to footpath GGK31 at OSGR SO7024/2516 with a width of 2 metres.
A length of footpath that runs from OSGR SO7014/2528 in a southerly direction for 178 metres
to footpath GGK31 at OSGR SO7016/2510 with a width of 2 metres.

There will be no waiting and no loading permitted throughout the duration of the works.
The roads are expected to be closed and restricted during various times on a rolling programme
commencing 15th March 2024 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council has made an Order to close
temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended)
part of Public Footpaths as defined in the schedule below;
SCHEDULE
Part of Public Footpath AGO 17 in the Parish of Gotherington is to be temporarily closed to
users under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) in a
generally south easterly direction for approximately 20 metres to its junction with AGO 19.
Part of Public Footpath AGO 20 in the Parish of Gotherington is to be temporarily closed to
users under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) from
its junction with Public Footpath AGO 19 in a generally easterly direction for approximately
290 metres to its junction with Public Footpath AGO 18.
The public footpath falls within the Parish of Gotherington in the Tewkesbury Borough,
Gloucestershire.
The closure is necessary to safeguard the public while construction works are undertaken.
The Public Footpath was originally closed for 21 days by Emergency Notice commencing 8th
February 2024. However, as the works to remedy the problem have not been completed it is
necessary to close the Public Footpath by an Order which can authorise the closure for up to six
months from the date of the Emergency Notice.
The Order comes into effect on the 29th February 2024. If work to remedy the problem is not
completed by 8th August 2024, then it will be necessary to make an application to the Secretary
of State for an extension to the Order
